alright this might be a super easy thing to fix but i cant for the life of me find a way to make it work...okay, heres my problem...i have a headset...i dont remember the model or maker, its a cheaper one in other words...but anywho, my problem is that when im in a game playing online other peoples voices come in over my home theater speakers instead of through the headset...i paid good money for my theater set up and dont want people with terrible mic feedback blowing one of my tweeters...i dont understand why the voices play through my speakers and not through the headset...ive looked in every options menu i can possibly think of and nada as far as changing it...any ideas?

I would think that would have to be a function of the game you are playing...

Yeah, its not pre-defined like it is on consoles.....I bought a cheap 1-speaker/1-mic USB headset and whenever I plug it in, boom..I get mono sound on the PC through my headset only.

I think there are some applications out there, freeware stuff, that can help work that out...does X-fire have a component like that to direct chat only through a headset and all other audio to speakers? Hmmmm..

I haven't gamed online on the PC since BF2

What O/S, what game? You need to be specific. If it's Vista you might be able to disable the speakers in the audio control panel.

I haven't tried it in Left 4 Dead, but in Team Fortress 2 there is an option for headset only in the audio panel of the options. But, I guess that would put all audio through the headset. Maybe there is another option through the voice or multiplayer panels.
