Thanks for your kind help.

How have you got on with this?

Do you use a Sky genuine box or a different receiver?

Thus far I have not connected my Sky HD box to the 621. My installer was under the impression that surround sound was not supported by the SKY HD box via HDMI and that it was only supported via tosslink. Although this sounds dumb/counterintuitive it would not surprise me given SKY's history. Due to another modification that I am planning to do to the system next week I may just try connecting the SKY HD box via its HDMI connection while the racks are out just to see if the issue has been resolved or not (SKY did a very substantial firmware upgrade a couple of months ago on its HD boxes and perhaps this matter has been resolved). I'll let you know what the outcome of the experiment is.

They got their HDMI add on out to appease the 861 owners. Like Theta, look for a new, updated platform next year.

That's even better!

Yes, indeed. One of the reasons for the move upstairs was that the old room was compromised by the placement of unmovable utility and structural columns.

Meridian hosted a HH'kers night back in March, and the demo in that big room was extremely impressive - particicularly the 810 projector. A must see if you are in the area.

Any improvements on the HD621 since 2010?

Support for 3D is the main addition, and a fix for the power off bug.

Was there something you were hoping for?
