Blu-ray and PAL DVD (update needed)

Existing information on this subject is scatterred and often outdated here, so I felt I had to start a new thread. It would be very helpful if people could list here BD players with the following:

1. Decent job upconverting SD DVD
2. Can be made to play multi-region DVD (BD multi-region not required)
3. Can be made to play PAL DVD

I'm especially interested to see if there is something inexpensive on the market lately that can do the job (under $300 maybe?).

I successfully made my LG BD370 region free (can only confirm for DVD). It played PAL DVDs from region 2 (Europe) just fine and upconverts as well as the PS3, at least to my eyes.

I bought it for $225 at Best Buy.

If you can find a LG BH200, you'd be all set. (Sometimes you'll find a discontinued one at a Best Buy.)

A Momitsu BDP-899. (Slightly over your budget price.)

The new JVC XV-BP1 can be made region free for DVDs. (Seen them on eBay modified for an additional price, but like other JVCs it's probably just a code hack so I wouldn't pay the additional price until I did some searching around first.)

I just got rid of a BH200. I have all the info on making that player region free and play PAL, including the "lg5000" file.

I'll check when I get home this evening, but can you verify if the same procedures from the BH200 work on the BD370?
