New HDMI 1.4 standard now with Ethernet support

The HDMI Licensing group unveiled an updated specification for the High Definition Multimedia Interface.

Highlights of the new specification, consist of a new data channel that can replace a hardwired Ethernet connection, support for a return audio stream & enhancements to the way content is displayed & transferred around the home.

New HDMI 1.4 standard now with Ethernet support

Throw out all the old equipment. If it ain't 1.4 compliant it ain't s***. Of course that will last until 1.5 w/ gigabit ethernet and 1.6 w/ the ability to see a white flash and end up on the island.

Yeah!!! Finally, something better! I knew those HDMI guru's would make it better... They rock! Just what we needed, more threads of why to use this cable instead of 1.3 because "they" say so. LOVE IT!!!! Gotta start ripping out the "old crappy" 1.3 this weekend! LOL... WHATEVER!

OMG get ready for it guys, when they start to hear about it they will all believe 1.3 is dead, or it wont work for their new gear. The retailers will have a feild day with this new one!
