Outdoor speakers

Looking into a set of outside speakers mounted under the eaves found Polk Atrium 45's , Yamaha's from FS and Soundstage " Outsiders " from visions , yammy's seem kinda cheap and they are $99 Cdn . The Polk and Soundstage's have similar specs with the Polks being on the higher side under $200

Any idea what the Soundstage set is like ( im assume the polks are good )

I just bought the Atrium 50s on the Polk Ebay store and they sound great. Not the most bass but that's inherent with most outdoor speakers.

"Not the most bass but that's inherent with most outdoor speakers"

Thats why im shying away from the yammys , Polks are $80 more but probably well worth it .

Still no one with Soundstage speakers ...?

JBL for $300 (would have a high SPL ability)...

You could also get a cheap tree stump...

... or a very expensive Jurassic log...

The JBL's look nice but a little above my price range , and no thanks to the yard ornaments !

But thanks for the links and info ! Still wanna know about the "Soundstage " speakers if they perform well ...

I bought some JBL n26awii's and s36awii's. The S36's sound good (bought for about 130 shipped), but the N26's (bought for around 60-65 shipped) leave much to be desired.

Both use a 6.5" woofer, so bass is pretty weak, but that was anticipated. I highly recommend the S36's if you can find them. They're no longer listed, cheap, on ebay from Harman Int.

No experience with the Polks or Soundstage's you asked about.

I think you might be surprised with those 45's. I own a pair and I have to say that I'm rather impressed with the extension...prolly has a lot to do with me positioning them "tight" to the eaves of the house. Great little speakers- paid about $100 new on Amazon. Give me a break with the name/price drop, it's FRIDAY!

I have a pair of Infinity Outriggers on the way for the front of the house...little bit bigger cabinet and drivers (5.25"), so I'm sure they'll be a bit better in the bass dept yet.

I'll let you know the results ASAP.

The speaker company has their outdoor speakers on sale. Just installed the larger of the options on my deck. Remarkable quality for the price. Free return shipping with a 30 day trial. Kind of a no brainer. Word of caution, the larger of the two is a big speaker. WAF a little suspect but easily removed off deck railing and stored.

Wow never seen the speaker companys prices before ! Will have to calculate with shipping etc to canada but seems pretty good

What about there 'house' brand speakers is the quality there ?
They are a part of D&M Holdings. All speakers are pretty much house speakers. I had purchased acoustech inwalls for my family room and a pair of the speaker companys least expensive 8" inwalls for background in my living room. Needless to say the much less expensive speaker company inwalls are now in the family room. Last I heard they were not shipping to Canada, but that might have changed. Good luck with your decision making.

Thanks dd i just sent an email off to them to see if they do ship here and how much etc .

How do you think they would stand up to the Polk 45's ( $180 approx ) or the Yammy's they got at FS right now for a $100 ?
Running them off of an old pioneer 509S which specs at 100 watts per channel and no problem with cranking them. As for comparisons, I would assume bass would extend a little lower due to woofer and enclosure size. Sound pretty good to me considering your trying to fill the great outdoors.

Right on , well now its up to shipping charges etc if i go for the ones from the Speaker Comp. If not , ill shell out the $$ for the Polks which im sure will perform
