Mitsubishi 73733 - flashing green light and will not power on

Well,

The front light on my 73" DLP Mitsubishi recently started flashing green and the power will not come on.

It just flashes green forever....

I have tried unplugging the TV and waiting hours to plug it back in but I get the same results.

It just will not power on now.


Anyone else experience this?

I was hoping there would be an easy fix but it looks like I am screwed. Of course, I have owned it for 18 months and the warranty ended at 12 months.

Usually means not finishing initialization could be bad Main pcb 934C260002 $350, but you should have an auth tech diagnose & install.

Go to Techlore (I would give the URL, but apparently I don't have enough posts yet)

There is a guy named Larry there that can give you instructions on how to fix it very cheap. (You will be swapping out 4-7 capacitors)
I was able to fix my "green light of death" issue with it.

That is interesting..wonder what it could be. Still flashing...

I have sent a couple of emails to Mitsubishi so hopefully will hear something next week.

Using my backup 32" right now...so small...

the solution is the main board. I don't think many people could troubleshoot the failure on the main board.

you can buy them refurbished online and replace yourself. I think they are like $100 or so.

This posting is several months old, but there is no clear answer to the issue, even though several people had the issue. Have you determined what the issue was with your 73733, and what the solution was? If there is no DM and capacitor change does not apply, is the solution to replace the main board?
