So I picked up a refurb TC-L37S1 last week. For ~$400 I couldn't pass it up. Got it home, set everything up for use as a monitor for gaming and HTPC. Borrowed a few of the settings I have seen in this thread and tweaked them to my liking.
Then, a couple nights ago, I was watching a movie and the unit shut off. The power light would blink steadily every 2-3 seconds, so I started researching it and saw reports of Panny Plasmas (nothing specific to LCDs) with faulty power supplies doing this, but every one I came across mentioned that the light blinks 7 times, pauses, 7 times, pauses, etc. Mine is just a steady blink every 2-3 seconds.
I unplugged the TV, plugged it back in and turned it on. The unit came on, showed my computer's desktop, blinked to black, then showed the desktop again, then did it once more and shut off (the same thing happens if I just hold down the power button to restart the TV rather than unplug it). I then unplugged the TV and left it unplugged for 15 minutes. When I plugged it back in, the unit came on just fine without a problem.
With all that said, the TV did this again last night. This time around, once I got it back up and running again, I decided to try and update the firmware. It was on 1.17, and I updated it to the latest, 1.28. I was able to use the TV for the remainder of last night, but I really don't have my hopes up that the firmware has fixed the issue.
Sorry for the long explanation, but any ideas?
