How to regulate the greenish tinge of the gray?
Twilight was awful.

I'd like to see this thread build.
I have a TH50PZ85 purchased on line at ButterflyPhoto.
Good price, good delivery, good service.
I use FiOS which is good, but could handle
unused(undecoded/displayed - CC set to OFF)
d horizontal Closed Captioning lines better,
and the new Oppo BDP83 "Universal" Blu-ray player.
A $500 well built unit tha plays Blu-Ray,
SD DVD upconverts as good as you get,
DVD-A, SACD, HDCD as well as CDs.
It's a great picture with lots of adjustments
and good sound but still has some DVD-A menu navigation problems.

I, originally using FiOS, found a problem with color banding so
Panny service sent a local tech who decided to replace the board.
After the initial week of "exercise" the picture seemed better but I
find a tendency for a aqua blue-green tint on light gray areas.
I use the calibrations found on Tweek.com which helped the pic greatly.

I am sure there is already a thread in the 'Plasma' sub-forum for this make/model of Plasma, I don't know that it's necessary to dedicate one in the HTPC sub-forum.

I don't see why we should not have a thread here. They do not talk about HTPCs in the Plasma forum...at least not much.

I have a TH-42PZ700U and I love it. It is a native 1080p and I have no problem running it at 1920x1080. The TV is limited to 60Hz.

I have it connected to the ASUS version of the G45 chipset. No tearing, no studdering, no nothing.

Maybe I am wrong but I would just think that most would like to avoid having a thread for every make/model of every display out there. I mean I could start a Mitsubish HC-1500 HTPC thread and an Westinghouse TX-47XS HTPC thread and a .......so on and so forth.

I don't think any amount of tweaking can fix that.

Go for it. If people like it, it will remain near the top. If people do not, it will drift into obscurity.

Popularity decides what is kept and what is lost. There really is no need to say "we should have this or not have that", as the people will decide that as a group.

If the Plasma forum actually had HTPC info in it, I would say to just go there. It appears other forums here avoid HTPC talk like the Mexican Flu...
