Please help me ! I am out of ideas...
I cannot get any live TV picture on my new MythTV build.
Whenever I select live TV, I end up on a black screen, and a minute later the display reverts to the menu.
Hardware is:
- motherboard: EVGA 113-YW-E115-TR nForce 730i/GeForce 9300 integrated graphics
- CPU: Intel Q8300 Quad Core
- RAM: 4GB
- HD: 5x1TB Raid-5 for data + 160GB system drive
- Tuners: 2x Hauppauge PVR-150 + 1x PVR-350
- Analog cable TV
To get to know MythTV, I initially tried Mythbuntu 8.10 on an old Asus A7N8X-E (Athlon 2500) with 2 Hauppauge PVR-150 and 1 PVR-350 tuners without any issues (Radeon 9600 video card). I am in Canada and use Schedule Direct. I use analog cable TV.
I then started to build my dedicated home server with Ubuntu 9.04 and software RAID-5. My intent is to run it as a backend only once fully debugged, but initially it is both front and back end.
I installed the two PVR-150 tuners on the new motherboard, an EVGA 113-YW-E115-TR, which is an nForce 730i/GeForce 9300 integrated graphics with Intel Q8300 Quad Core CPU and 4GB RAM.
I then installed Ubuntu 9.04 and proceeded with the RAID-5 installation without problems.
I then installed MythTV 0.21. MythTV does see the tuners. I configured everything but always get a black screen on live TV.
When I go back to configuration, if I make a scan for the channels, the scan go fast on the active channels, and slower on the unavailable channels. This makes me believe the MythTV correctly controls the tuners. I also verified with a TV that I do have correct video on my tuner inputs.
I reinstalled the tuners in a Windows box to verify fuctionality. They are OK.
Thinking this may be an issue with the way I was adding MythTV to Ubuntu, I disconnected all my HD and hooked up a spare 160GB in order to install MythBuntu 8.10 (which I had working correctly on the old motherboard). Same problem! Black picture on live TV!
I am using the nVidia 177 drivers (which are the latest MythBuntu proposes me).
Any help will be greatly appreciated !
