Boom Blox Bash Party

It's out today.

Anyone find it/pick it up yet?
Sadly this may be overshadowed by Punch-Out. It's not often two noteworthy Wii releases are out in one week. I'd definitely be interested to hear what others think about this too...'specially since it's a $40 game.

Oh, wow, I didn't realize this was out so soon. I haven't beaten the first yet though, so it'll probably be a while before I pick up this one.

My friend and I combined got everything in #1.

#2 is supposed to be even better multiplayer/level sharing. I'm excited.

Confirmed in tomorrow round these parts.

Oh, and I'm not that excited about Punch Out...yeah...I know...bad me.

Oh, that's not what I'm saying, I meant that there's a lot of marketing hype for Punch-Out but Boom Blox 2 is kinda just sneaking into stores. Most people don't even seem to realize it's out this week.

Your other thread led me to believe you were very strongly pro Punch-Out

Don't get me wrong, I loved that game back in the day...I'm just pretty sure I'd break something if it's as difficult as I remember it being.

Boom Blox = something the fiance will play which trumps everything else.

Couldn't find it at Best Buy, Fry's, or GameStop today. Maybe tomorrow.

I hope multiplayer is longer lasting. Had a blast in the first one during the first evening I've had it, but the multiplayer got dull quick in recent attempts to go back to it.

How's single player? I've yet to try it in Boom Blox.

Franchot, Tuesday was the ship date, try tomorrow when it's had a chance to arrive at store locations and be unpacked.

Single player was excellent trying to get gold on every stage.

As for multiplayer, it's supposed to be a lot better.

Yup.

I did pick up EA Sports Active Personal Trainer today. It was on sale at several places. I did the first day work-out (20 minutes) and it was fun. Hope it remains fun throughout the entire 30 day challenge. (I liked Wii Fit at the beginning, but kind of bored of it after a while, so I can't say that Active Trainer is any better at this point.)

I checked for it when I got Punch-Out last night. Target was already sold out of it. Annoying. The Wii is slated for several good exclusives this summer, so I'll get it sooner or later...but maybe not immediately. Indy and the Staff of Kings is only a few weeks away, too.

Picked it up at Best Buy last night.

Pretty much awesome. Multiplayer is FAR superior to #1.

Plus you can download more levels right from the individual play areas = huge improvement.

Mind going into more detail about how the multiplayer's improved? I can barely find any info on this game at all. Multiplayer was pretty solid in the first one, but could get a little repetitive.

There are 4 different "zones" to play in.

Each zone has about 5 different areas.

Each area has 6 or 7 games.

So that's about 150 multiplayer games that are all pretty good.

There's also a "Random" in the center where it'll pull 3 games from one of the areas to sample, then tell you where to go play them.

Plus the fact that you can download extra levels at any time = awesome.

Are the "shooting" games any better in this one? Those were the real weak link of the first game. Just generic trigger-pulling; none of the pulling/throwing originality of the rest of the games.

Haven't found one yet

I'm sure there's one somewhere in there but I've gone through about 40% of the solo levels and still haven't been subjected to that crap.

This one seems a bit more difficult. The single player's is not as straight forward as before with some better puzzles. Im thinking of picking up this one. It also has DLC...!! Wonder how often they get updated.

Is it true that you can create your own areas & post 'em online a la SSBB?

Found one.

It's much less annoying though.

Looks like. I saw several levels online yesterday, and they had ratings you could vote on, similar to stuff like LBP.

Played some coop yesterday with my son. Much improved. He was given bombs and I was given bowling balls, and we had to work together to get the gems in 'treasure hunt' mode. Then we played the 'shuffle pux' competitively and grabbed a download level from the EA designers (which was very cool).

So far loving this game. It's a definite improvement over the first one, which we liked a lot. But you can definitely see some serious improvements throughout.

The DLC aspect of this, along with what sounds to be plenty of in game puzzles & it's $40 price tag about everywhere makes me think I should check this out.

With recent $$ spent as well as $$ already spent towards upcoming games, I may need to rent this first. If the missus gets hooked, should be an easy one to slip onto the "gotta own" pile.

Got it from Gamefly for $21.51. At least I can get it for that with my membership.
decent but better the 1st time around. also very frustrating with the pull blocks/slingshot puzzles the wii remote is just not accurate enough..
Played again last night with both the kids and the wife. Fun stuff, though some plays better with four people than two. Really like the additional variety of some of the variations this time out, such as the paintball levels, for example.

arggg...bugs again. I'm in the single player in space, on the level with the UFOs stealing the crystals. The damn remote freezes!! its the same bug as before. The disc seems to be accessed during the play. This may be freezing the reading of the remote.

I just picked this up used over the weekend. My 7 yr old is HOOKED & the missus is showing some interest.

I believe I played the UFO level you mentioned & have yet to have anything lock up. Doesn't mean it won't of course - and I never played the 1st one. But so far seems to be bug-free.

All in all, a rather solid family game - made better by being the "free" game among the "buy 2, get 1 free" used promo GameStop was running this weekend.

If nothing else, between the plethora of included games + the free DLC - there is A LOT of stuff to smash & throw in here!
