I remember when we bought this mount there was some issue in regards to the mount almost being too big for the set. It's not dangerous, just cosmetically ugly (bars of the mount sticking out beyond the backside of the TV) and has been there for four months and I thought I might replace it after six if I had the cash.

I would advise that you be certain before removing the set. LCDs don't take kindly to being moved around too much! Do you have any pictures, paintings, or similar mounted on that wall?

I've moved this around a few times and it's quite okay, I installed my own wall mount and put it up there. I just plan to put it's included stand on the desk below it and carefully guide it down a few inches into the stand.

I've listened to the speakers on the Z. They're 'OK' in regards to TV speakers. I would be more concerned that perhaps you got a set with a blown speaker coil or cone.

Maybe, I just figure I have three options:
1) It's a vibration and not a speaker issue
2) Buy a replacement speaker, use that instead of the built-in
3) Have some local technician work on the TV under warranty, crack open the casing and stand a good chance the TV will never be quite right again.

Also, room space and the 'wife approval factor' being the reasons to preclude discrete speakers, would be the only reason I would go with a sound bar. Some people say they are OK, most hate them like poison.

I don't want/need anything fancier than the speakers it came with. This 40" almost dominates the bedroom it lives in. It just sits on a wall and is hooked up to cable, Xbox, PS3, Nintendo, and a PC (writing this post on it now.) It's my multifunctional do-anything display. Since it does not live in our main gathering room and is more of a personal display, it's limited in how often it does HT bang-whiz stuff. Just a few Blu-Rays and TV shows off the DVR.
But I would like to get rid of that audible rattle on the left side of the display's speakers when The Big Bang Theory does one of it's bass-heavy 'whooosh' transitions.
But I certainly do not have the room (nor the tolerance) for a surround sound setup. I have no wife, but I'm an audio luddite who doesn't like to see satellite speakers hanging around the room. Stereo is fine.
