Mac Mini and Onkyo 706 Success Stories?

Has anyone heard of success stories with an Onkyo 706 receiver (606? 806?) and a Mac Mini?

I've seen a number of posts related to potential issues related to output of the custom resolutions required to get properly aligned 1080p output. What I haven't seen is any success stories.

The Onkyo 706 looks to be the best bang for the buck for my receiver budget and needs, but it will be a no-go if it won't work with the mini.

In that case, does anyone have a suggested receiver in the $600-$700 range that will play nicely with the mini?

If it helps, everything will be outputting to my Sharp Aquos LC-46D64U.

I appreciate the help.

I've got the 806 and it works great with my Mac Mini. No issues at all.

Audio from the 1/8th inch optical, using TosLink adapter from monoprice.com, into optical in.

Video is connected with a DVI -> HDMI cable from monoprice.com. No adapter. Plugged it in and it worked right away.

Not much more to add as I have had zero issue with either display or audio.
