Bic Acoustech HT-75 vs Athena AS F2.2

I own a pair of Athena AS F2.2 floor standing speakers along with AS C1.2 center channel speaker. I found a deal on BIC Acoustech HT-75 speakers and HT-65 center channel speaker in eBay, and I am considering buying them. Would it be considered as an upgrade? Would it worth to jump on? I like the sound from Athena speakers. Recent addition of BIC H100 sub affect more quality on bass, and it has given me the consideration of switching my HT set up to BIC.

Thanks,

I highly doubt it. I would look at other speakers as "upgrade." If you're on a budget, look at ID companies such as eD, Hsu, SVS, and Aperion.

"highly doubt it" Lol... the BIC acoustechs and the Hsu Research that you recommend are practically the same. The horn tweeters between them are, im pretty certain, the exact same. Also, the entire Acoustech line was designed WITH the HSU Research engineers.

To the OP, you may also check out the Rocket package at av123... they've had a real good deal on a 5.0 package for several months now. It still may be more than you want to spend, but a really good deal if you're able to expand the budget.

What is the direct link for that package?

can't do links anymore with that company. You'll have to go to their website and find it yourself.

Oh. Ok. Thanks!

Aw, it was 1699 but has been bumped back to 1999. Still a good deal though. Just go to 'speakers' on the left menu on av123's site. Then click the 'Rocket' link. It is the second from the bottom... says ETA June, so I guess you'd have to wait until June. If you called and asked, they might still give you the package for 1699. They're pretty easy to work with like that from what I understand.

lilmike2069, Are you still using BIC H100 along with HT-88 & 75? I enjoyed reading your threads. Maybe you upgraded AVS123 speakers...

Thank you! I'm still using my original Acoustech setup with the H100 and am still pretty happy with it. Just offering up some options and good deals is all. Speakers are subjective and because of that, the more options the better. I also knew they've had that package deal for a little while now (HUGE savings over their original prices) so I thought i'd at least suggest looking into them. They have different aesthetics and different driver configurations. Just keep in mind that they are not as efficient and you'll need a little more power to achieve the same 'loudness'.
