They've written themselves into a corner. How many more times can they do the Regionals to Nationals business when there is no clear choice as to who is better, and certainly no indication that New Directions deserves to win. Hardly a one of them can dance adequately.

All else is anti-climax in any seasons to come, in another group of twenty-somethings portraying teenagers. No more for me.

Not the best music this week but very touching and a fitting season finale. Honestly at this point I wish this had been the show finale as it would have ended on a high note. Who will be the strong female lead next year? None left in the group. At least not solo weekly caliber.

I think they did. I know some of the regulars are re-signed for next season.

For all the reasons above, which I agree with, this totally felt like a series finale. On top of that, it feels like all the major characters have completed their journey. Rachel, The football players, the Cheerios. All done and ready to move on with their lives. Sue is a better person, Mr Schu and Emma finally did the deed. The other characters (Artie, Tina, Mercedesetc.) did not start out with a clear story arc or need for growth, so I'm far less invested in what will happen to them next year. So I'm not really sure what the hook will be to tune in next season. For sure it isn't going to be to see if they make it to Nationals. That story is a dead horse and they can't beat it any more.

I agree with what seems to be the consensus: The season finale would have been more effective as a series finale. I quit on Glee for a variety of reasons in mid season but came back to see the season finale. I was mostly underwhelmed for a variety of reasons. First, there was as usual way too much gay issue preaching, although Kurt's Dad's Michael Jackson number with the girls was sweet and effective. Most of the music was way too pop-centric for my tastes. The show has always been at its best when it used music to tell a story. Which brings me to my last point. I loved Rachel's solo at the train station. It was beautifully sung and it moved me. I will probably not start watching again next season but Lea Michelle's number at the end made the time it took for me to see the season finale well spent.

That's ok ... other than the "Rumors" episode, I find it hard to identify at least half of the songs on the show.

In case there had been any doubt, there is none now: my knowledge of popular music and its performers is suspect. It is so bad, my daughter and grandson kid me about it. Equally obviously, I have a lot of interest in and considerably more knowledge of musical theater. So when I rail here about there being too much pop music, consider the source.

Mike O'Malley did a pretty good job, not so much with the choreography but with Beyonce's attitude and gestures. I wonder how many takes they had to do before Jenna and Heather stopped laughing

I didn't buy the ending--Finn was ready to go to school in NY, and marry Rachel, if he got accepted, but when he didn't get accepted, he made up his mind on how he was going to honor his father...and he chose a way that would break them apart? That was weak.

Seriously, the "we love each other so much, we have to let each other go" crap has to end.

I did like the graduation performance though.

First promo for season 4 is up. Soon as I saw Wade Adams I made an audible groan. I REALLY hope he's not a regular or I'm out. Probably one of the most annoying characters they've done so far.

You can always give "The New Normal" on NBC a shot. It's also from Ryan Murphy, and looks like pretty much the same show.

You had to have known the way they showcased him and even had a line in there about changing schools or something to that extent he was going to be a regular this season. That, along with uninteresting stories, is why I'm out. No more for me.

I think Melissa Benoist (Marley) has a FABULOUS voice! And she's also gorgeous. Good choice for "The New Rachel".

I was expecting to write the show off based on how much I hated last season, but the opener wasn't too bad....I'll give it a couple more episodes anyway. As soon as they start major showcasing of the cross-dresser, I'll be gone.

I enjoyed the opener. They toned down some of the heavy handed stuff, focused more on the music, and looks like they're determined to make the show fun again. Not a fan of Wade Adams' character, but that's not going to get me to stop watching the show. My only complaint - no Finn, no Puck, no Santana. Wonder how they're going to work those folks in this year?

She didn't get to show off her singing voice in 'Homeland', but that's about all she didn't show off.

I enjoyed the S4 opener for the most part.
Things I liked:
- New girl Marley. Melissa has teriffic voice and absolutely nailed Chasing Pavementss
- Glee kids realizing that the cost of being part of the "In crowd" interms of their true selves was too high to pay
- Scenes between Marley and her mom which were played beautifully by both actresses with great sensativity
- The great Mike O'Malley just killing it in his farewell scene with Chris Colfer. He is just plain wonderful
- Musical numbers were very good, although Kate Hudson's was a bit too long
- Rachel and Kurt. I was curious to see how the show runners were going to handle their returning alums and I think that they pulled it off. Rachel's trials in NY and Kurt's being totally out of place in Lima were well done. Their reunion in NY played against Marley's singing Chasing Pavements was very touching. Did anyone notice the little audo trick during that scene when after Rachel was crying into her cell phone and Kurt spoke, it didn't sound like he was on a cell at all but almost right next to her? Nice little piece of business that.

Things that I wasn't thrilled about:
- Yet another vicious Cheerio? Sorry but it didn't worjk for me and the actress had no appeal at all. She was too harsh in her portrayal
- Hints that Sue would revert back to her old form? After Jane Lynch's softening of Sue's character last season, this one wouldn't make a lot of sense
- Unique. Sorry (and I fully support full rights for the LGBT community) but this is gonna get real old, real quick for me if it's a 24/7 deal.

I found the "interview" and recall it now that I've seen it.  But, I never would have made the connection.

What can I say? She made an impression.

It was a fun episode. I'm slowly starting to look forward to this show again. But we should conduct some important business, in keeping with the spirit of the times. I cast my vote for Marley Rose (Melissa Benoist) as the hottest Glee babe, ever.

Very trusting high school...in this day and age if you have no business being in the school (like all those former graduates) you can't just waltz in and go walking around wherever you want.

I can only judge by the lack of comments, most people are feeling the same as me...this show has jumped the shark....the "cliffhanger" could be seen coming a mile away, and I don't really care what happens to any of them any more or whether they won sectionals or not.

I checked out awhile ago. My wife watches it but I usually am doing something else. When they replaced all the main characters and just brought in exact duplicates for everyone and then re-hashed the exact same story lines again, I said no thanks.

Nah ... it's just that there's no reason for anyone who actually enjoys the show (even a little bit) to participate in this thread.

That being said, I think the "problem" with this season is that they're playing things too safe ... and predictable ...

We still sort of enjoy the show but one character in particular, Kitty, the new head b%$tch Cheerio is so thoroughly repulsive that we're turned off every time she's on screen. This week's show did, however, have one very good moment and one spectacular one. The former was Kurt getting an opportunity to sing/audition at the NYADA Winter Celebration. His rendition of Sondheim's "Being Alive" was very impressive. The latter occurred at the same event. It was Rachel singing "Being Good Isn't Good Enough", a song done to perfection by La Streisand back in the day. Well, Lea gave possibly the best vocal performance, of her Glee tenure. It is an absolute marvel to watch and listen to and bears repeated viewing..
