C4 is the best for bringing buildings down (besides a tank obv.). Best way? Blow up 3 corners, leave c4 on the last one, (arm the mcom if there is one in it). Then run out and wait for someone to run in the building. Works better for mcoms since people will be trying to get in and disarm the crate.

Yeah you could probably do it with some well placed AT mines as well, but it would be far more difficult. It depends on how well the defenders are holding a building, if they are letting me get inside or close I'll use C4, if they are defending very well I like the 40mm grenade ammo pack combo. Although if you have a good squadmate who will put an ammo pack down for you, Carl Gustav is probably a better option.

I'm starting to sour on the game. Last night was a typical example of what the last few nights have been like:

-log on, find some avser's, get into a game - have fun for one round
-round ends, Nelson Bay loads, entire other team drops
-drop out, find another rush game - it loads and ends just as I spawn - Nelson Bay loads up - teams are now 12 vs. 2.
-drop out, find another rush game, Isla Inocentas - hmmmm - decide to try sniper kit - scroll through squad - sniper, sniper, sniper, hmmmmm....spawn in base, its filled with snipers and one guy continually jumping in the helo and bailing out of it over the first MCOM. Ugh.
-drop out, find another game. Spawn in. Get killed by a shotgun by a guy halfway across the map. Check the scoreboard - entire other team is officer ranks. Try to spawn and live for more than 5 seconds with no luck. Round ends and Nelson Bay loads. Massive exodus.
-drop out, find another game. Get kicked to dashboard.
-start up game again. Port Valdez defender - grab my engineer kit spawn, make it to the building to line up a tank shot - get mortared. While waiting to respawn - check the scoreboard: 2 vs. 12
-realize over an hour has gone by, log off and go to bed.

Conquest has no interest for me other than different maps. IMO it becomes a game of hide and seek and isn't too much fun.

The matching is simply awful. I wish it was more balanced and included team evening as well.

I won't belabor the whole voice/squad thing. I was in one squad last night that actually had someone talking in it and it was mostly vulgarities.

Has anyone had their vehicle score glitch? Between rounds when I cycle through the kit scores, when mine gets to vehicles, that row is entirely greyed out and the score sound sticks and repeats until I left/right button out of it.
I guess I've been lucky to never have had any of those issues while playing (with the exception of being in a squad full of snipers - which I hate). The only time I've been in an unbalanced game was in Conquest when we had a full team of AVS'ers and the other team bailed...as in the entire team bailed.

As for the vehicle glitch, I think you are referring to the unlocks in which you probably have everything opened, which is why it's greyed out and doesn't reflect your score.

I played for a lil while with Matt and Dallas last night. We actually had a pretty good few matches that weren't annoying as all hell. Nelson Bay came up no matter what. Haha! Couldn't sleep much so I logged on again in the early AM. Played with DLJ for a bit. Well...sorta. I wasn't playing much as a team member. Sorry, James. I was sticking to working on my seldom used Recon class. Usually I am not a good sniper in games but I actually did pretty good most of the night. Got some sweet kills. I was only annoyed by guys who kept spawn camping in Arica Harbor.

Yeah I think that's it. Does your sound stick when it gets to the vehicle score too? I suppose I could check for the alternate firing mode on the vehicles to confirm the unlock.

I think what it is, is that now most players have figured out attacking is the best way to win a match and bail when they have to defend. I would bet in the rounds the players dropped out for you Rotoman, they were defenders. It seems thats been my experience of late anyway.

Yeah that totally makes sense.

I don't hate it...but I often skip it, mostly because I'm playing on a 23" wide screen monitor from about 10 feet away (its at the foot of the bed on a dresser). With it being a night map its hard to see what the hell is going on.

Plus, no vehicles so the engineer kit is pretty much excluded.

I had no luck taking down B on Nelson's Bay the other day. We had 8 on 1 and I walked around the building blowning up everything, but some of the pillars would not budge.

The first B? That's weird, I've shelled just the front of that building before and dropped it. Did you hit the second floor as well?

Actually, I still don't mind playing there. It just comes up wwaaaaaayyyyy too often. Though I like that it's often quite exciting with close encounters all over once you get past the first pair of MCOM stations. I could live without all the snipers that usually populate the map but what can you do. One use for engineers on the map is to use the RPG on the walls of buildings. Not as effective at bringing down the house like C4 but it works. I was quite good at getting snipers using the RPG. Sure rocked their world. 90% of the time, in any map, I play as a medic so I've always got something to do.

Best damn point whoring medic I've ever played with.....not that there's anything wrong with that.

That could have been it, I didn't hit the 2nd floor. I have dropped it with mortars, just not grenade launchers.

He's my Primary Care Physician

Ahh, Nelson Bay is the night map? I actually sort of like that one. I actually enjoy defending on that map more than attacking, some of my best/most fun games ever have come from there (thanks to the shielded turret on the second "B" objective).

I think I win more often on defense than I do on offense on that map.

Thank goodness he's not the proctologist. If you ever see a proctologist toting around an M60...flee.

Ya i like nelson bay alot more now than i did at first. I find that most of the ppl that say it is too dark haven't played with the brightness/contrast in the game. I had problems for the first few rounds on it, i changed the settings and now i can see across the map fine and the rest of the maps are still the same as they were before. Odds are if you can't see on nelson bay you probably can't see too well when you enter dark buildings either.

My complaint isn't that it's dark. It's that I can't play BC2 without it being the first map to come up. No exaggerating. It comes up every single time I load in. I got excited last night when I got to play port valdez.

ew ya that sucks. I think i've played it once or twice in the previous 6-8 hours of gaming. I keep getting valparaiso popping up. Luckily the isle map isn't coming up as much right now..
It's funny reading some of the comments - Nelson Bay rarely comes up for me (and I enjoy it), and I love defending. I have to say that the map rotation I've experienced has been well balanced.

Is there a way to disable the VIP content? If so, that's a way to get rid of Nelson Bay from popping up.

I can definitely see why people might bail as defenders, but I can almost say I have just as much fun, if not more fun, defending as I do attacking. I like the pressure of trying to take out there last 15-20 guys when there is only 1 M-COM station left.

signed. Defending on nelson makes the game feel more competetive. Especially on the second to last set of points, "a" is crazy hard/fun to defend.

This is my experience too. I actually like the map, I just don't want to play it that often.

For me I rarely ever see Valpairaso.

That one can be equally hard to attack when the walls are blown up around the MCOM. It just seems to take a lot more teamwork to defend successfully than attacking. Attacking half of the MCOMs can be dropped just by collapsing buildings and a good bit of the time MCOMs aren't armed but just destroyed without warning.

"Played with DLJ for a bit. Well...sorta. I wasn't playing much as a team member. Sorry, James. I was sticking to working on my seldom used Recon class."

It's all good, as I wasn't really team playing either. I've been playing with my engineer a lot, working towards his unlocks, so I've been trying to stick next to vehicles whether my squad has them or not.

As for Nelson Bay Rush? Probably my favorite map. Attacking medics are of extremely high value, and the tree density mixed with snow drifts makes approaches more stealthy than they are on most maps.

Does no one else have Squad Rush yet? I've had a blast playing it, though only with randoms. It's terrible for points, but quite fun 4v4, two stage, single crate Rush.
