It sucks playing 8 on 2 but it's awesome when you realize it's due to our total domination. My kdr on one map was 0-2 with over 2000 points. One death was from running up too early and the other was from blowing my c4 too soon. I don't think I ever even saw an opponent.

I'd have time to drop maybe one mortar strike before both objectives were gone, lol. I know we did Nelson Bay & White Pass in 5 minutes or less.

That was a good time. Glad those two stuck around and we were able to get a good game out of it....even though we were outnumbered by the end, they still didn't destroy any MCOMs.

Now if only Link would be quiet for more than 30 seconds...

Sorry about the mic yesterday, Gis.
I had it on for a while, but noone was really talking so I set it down when I got a phonecall and never picked it back up.

We wrecked **** the couple games I was in though.

Ya know, I sold my copy of BC2 off a month or two ago but amazingly enough I'm going through withdrawl...I think I'm going to have to pick it up again so I can game with you guys.

I didn't have my mic on, was just listening to everybody. Was wondering if no one was talking or if my party chat just wasn't working.

Fun games last night -- sorry about leaving so abruptly but Xbox froze so figured a good time to take a break If we have that many again we're going to start having to split up into two parties.

was on last night with Bro Grim and Gismo for a while, and i had to jump off. some of the most annoying rounds i've ever experienced. i would shoot a guy 5-6 times-- and i mean hit markers, not 'i should have been hitting him!'-- and he doesn't die. this, of course, alerts him to my presence and he turns and vapes me instantly. whaaaaaaaaa??????

later, i shoot a Hot Carl and *see* it land right at a guy's feet, and again hit markers... but he doesn't die??? and then, naturally, he turns and kills me INSTANTLY. i think he was using a 9A-91.

Gismo skillfully makes his way around back of the defenders' base and i spawn in on him. we move towards the M-Com, 5-metre spread, and soon, he gets shot. i see the guy slowly walking towards/shooting him, and i open fire with the M-60. again, hit markers all over the place... but instead of dying, he turns and kills me.

WHAT. THE. F*%#*#*!(&??

if i see a group of AVSers, naturally i'll try and join... but do any of you guys enjoy Hardcore as well? i hate not having the minimap, but i do better there. it doesn't make sense to have to hit a guy 7-8 times aboot the shoulders, chest, and face, to kill him. it's a MACHINE GUN and i am using magnum ammo, to boot.

yes, i know it's a videogame, and yes, i know people use body armour... but COME. ON. that was the main reason i started playing Hardcore in the first place-- i often get the drop on enemies. first hit should equal first kill 99% of the time.

thanks for letting me vent. if any of you (especially those of you who have gotten all patches/pins and may want a new challenge) want to start playing a little Hardcore, please let me know.

/whiny, annoyed rant

oh, and, for any of you tl;dr types:

anybody up for some Hardcore, sometime?
I wouldn't mind trying Hardcore. My biggest fear in that though is teamkilling by accident. It's hard for me to make out the different uniforms while remembering which side I'm on!

I've had this happen to me lately, and don't just think it's body armor. Maybe a lag issue, but I've shot guys point blank with Neostad/Magnum ammo and nothing happened. Def. frustrating.

Heh......hot carl. I don't care who you are, that right there is funny.

i used to have serious problems remembering which side i was on. the update fixed that-- during the kit selection screen, your guy is displayed. i was surprised by how much that helped! you can also hit 'back' on an objective, teammate, or enemy, and your guy will speak; the language will make clear which team you are on. (under default audio settings. oh, and i'm not saying you don't already know these things, etc.)

i bet you will get used to determining which guys are which, quickly. it sounds strange, but i kind of like that element-- it keeps you honest.

but that admittedly is one nice thing about non-Hardcore-- if someone sneaks up on you, you can afford to shoot first and ask questions later

I play a lot of hardcore. Generally your teammates have blue triangles and the other team doesn't. It doesn't always help, you will team kill every now and then though.

The other day I had some guy spawn off of me twice when I was sniping and run right in front of me as I was shooting at someone. Minus points for me.

Is Link on AVS?

he is not. i am proud to say that i am the link... get it, link?... between he and AVS. he insists that we met during BFBC1, but i thought we met during the BFBC2 demo.

same with Mr. Tayto, if any of you have played with him...

edit: pointless fluff, but the above brings back memories... i remember first playing the BFBC2 demo, and how it completely blew me away. a pal of mine had just gotten me hip to BFBC1 about a month before, and after whipping through the singleplayer mode, i got hooked on the multiplayer. it was the first time i decided to play with randoms, and although i was a bit trepid at first, it took me no time at all to get used to it.

BFBC2 looked so ultamodern and clean, with its greys and blues and oranges, and the snow of Port Valdez seemed so intimidating. i remember the first time i died, near the buildings directly across from Alpha3, the one with the mounted weapons on the roof.

as i settled into the game, it became more and more clear that i was going to have to rethink how i saw the FPS. BFBC2 is a chess game played with tracer rounds and high-explosives. i thought, 'this is only one stage?' as much as i loved BFBC1, the jump between it and the sequel was like going from the Atari 2600 to the PS3; at the time, i wouldn't have believed such a leap was possible.

i am done waxing poetic, now... time to go home and shoot some dudes in the face!

I didn't think so. I've played with him a number of times the last few weeks and just added him as a friend, but didn't remember an AVS name that corresponded. That is why..

he's a good dude, and one of the better players out there. as long as you can tune out the ragefits, he's a good friend to have!
yeah. From now on when Link starts whining, tell him "big girls don't cry". LOL

Giovanni, I completely agree with your summation of BC2. I'm not a FPS fan either but I LOVE playing this game.

Tayto is freaking awesome as a gunner btw. He and I did some neat things on Arica once

That, sir, is why the good lord invented the mute button!

Yes, this game is great. There is so much variation to way each game can play out. Granted, the goal is the same each game (Rush), but there are so many ways to attack/defend, and the D 2.0 just make each game/battle/skirmish so different. It rocks.

Agreed. It's my favorite MP shooter of all time, warts and all. For me it's:
1. BFBC2
2. COD4
3. Gears 1
4. Halo 3
5. GRAW 1

Good games last night fellas. I still got some rust to shake off, but I see myself quickly getting back into the addiction.
if it's not one thing, it's six others...

i got home late last night, and was having some internet issues. tonight is the first night in about two-three weeks when i have absolutely nothing going on, and was planning to spend plenty of time on-a$$, playing BFBC2.

i called my cable company and tore 'em a few new ones, so hopefully by the time i get back home...

sigh...

Excellent gamming last night. Link was tearing sh*$t up! When we were defending, we had a 4 medic on my squad defending A. Reviving and healing. I was using my c4 for attaching. Blew up a few MCOMs with it. The Hind is alot harder to fly? After two hours of playtime, I got off and started to DL game demos.
for about 2 hours last night every body stats were set back to 0.

Hey guys. Live subscription ran out today. Ordered a new one, but the card won't be here for a few days. Does anyone have one of those 48 hr. trial codes that sometimes come with games (tucked behind the instruction manual) that I could use in the mean time? If so, please PM me. Thanks!!
