i think i have 1300-1400 kills with each of those LMGs... the lagniappe alone would be worth 7 or so gold stars if i had just switched to other LMGs!

what i have been doing is pick a gun use it until i get platinum i started using the pp2000 this weekend and got 4 gold stars with it and i get to blow mcoms with mines it is so funny we rush the mcoms and i am the only one using mines everyone else is using c4 but i love using them.

Anyone know when the Vietnam thing is coming out?

Winter 2010.

They are Atlantic Technology 350.

I wondered about the drop between 120-150.

Also, my understanding of Audyssey is that there will not be a curve established for the mains for anything under 150. Is that correct?

Really odd that it would have set the fronts to 150. Are all the woofers functioning properly - can you hear each individual one putting out sounds. No visible damage?

Also, if you were going through it quickly, could it be possible you mixed up your ports, or misread what the onkyo said the settings were? Would make a lot more sense if your fronts were 50, center 70 (or vice versa, though I'd expect the larger fronts to go lower than the center), and the surrounds were 150.

no, i'm a convert, now, too. they work pretty darn well, although i would like to see some damage charts to see which (if either) provides the bigger bang. but it does make a ton of sense! even if you kill me, my mines will still be hanging around...

i also like that you have the choice of all the SMGs... well, even though i generally hate the SMGs! i'm tired of running G3/M1A1/M1/sniper rifles/shotguns, just to be able to run C4!

on a related note, i started using the PP2k and i now like it... that and the XM8 are the only SMGs i give half a crap about. i freaking hate the 9A91... not looking forward to trying to gold/platinum that pos...

had a few really annoying games and a few really fun ones, this weekend... good gravy, i cannot STAND playing with randoms anymore... the M-Com is on fire and you guys are literally running AWAY from it? do you just not understand the point of Rush...?

I thought it was odd too and I did the setup several times. It's 150 for the L/R mains. I just checked and all of the speakers are firing in each enclosure.

It does seem to be a feature of the 350 system though as AVS has a few other posts about people having the same problem.

That being said, I went through several DVDs yesterday and did a ear-by-ear comparison between the Audyssey setup and straight 80 setup and Audyssey won hands down.

Well once you run Audyssey, its set until you re-run it or use Direct/Pure and or the RE-EQ function. So the 80 would have had the Audyssey settings as well unless you tried the 80 prior to running Audyssey.

Sal, it's typical of all "hi-fi" speakers to have weak midbass (50-150hz) in relation to the rest of the spectrum. That's probably why so many people have the same issue with unusually high recommended crossover from Audyssey.

This is why many of us in the DIY audio section are building huge, pro style cinema speakers with 15" mids. Most people don't have subs that big.

You don't have to use all the settings Audyssey makes. You can choose to use the EQ or not. I prefered the sound without the EQ but I did like that it set everything else.

Direct is awesome for music, btw. Good choice!

I have been doing a ton of reading regarding Audyssey and looking for that -3db drop that it does and it makes sense that somewhere between 120-150 it is dropping off. What I'm surprised about is that the Onkyo doesn't choose to boost in that range since it is an available option in the EQ...

 It sounds good.

I went back and forth turning all of the Audyssey settings off in addition to switching over the Xover. In other news, I now know the Onkyo menu like the back of my hand...

I feel like if I play with randoms it's a guaranteed loss unless I set/disarm 50% of the MCOM's. Down to under 10 tickets and people just sit there and snipe. Can't count the number of times I saw someone running in the opposite direction over the weekend.

I also feel it's bad etiquette to arm the MCOM's when playing with you guys now - I had been away from the game for a couple months and apparently missed out on the C4/mine revolution.

I usually take a look at the map and if there's a bunch of people going to it, I don't bother. It also depends on the MCOM. There are some that are just going to come down easy and are almost not worth defending really hard...

Then again, I only play with randoms if I absolutely have to as it is terrible. Usually if no one is on, I'll go play another game.

I agree on both points - seems there's a lot more emphasis on blowing up MCOM's or taking the buildings down now.

I try not to play with randoms either, but had to get some extra games in over the weekend to shake the rust off and get a feel for the new maps (well, new to me).

So, I was looking at the store last night in the game and it appears that we have just a single VIP update left.

There are only two spaces total left and since they are listing 1943 and BC1, my guess is that the other spot is going to be for Vietnam.

Looks like we are not going to get a map pack for this game....

I think the only RUSH map lacking is Panama Canal?

Wonder how much the Vietnam will be, and that is essentially a map pack is it not, plus new weapons, vehicles, pins, achievements, etc.

Yeah there's a huge rush to blow the MCOM's. I'd suggest asking the team which one they're going for first and then try to arm the other one. That way you distract everyone from the C4 and may just take one out while you're at it .

I totally second the randoms issue. I only like to play when people I know are playing. It's just a lot more fun. I don't think I'd still be playing this game if it wasn't for you guys.

Hopefully the last VIP includes Panama Canal. Can't think of what other Conquest maps are out there that aren't part of Rush.

As long as the last VIP content isn't a squad mode, I'll be happy enough. Unfortunately, Winter is a broad range for the Vietnam content - November to February.

Stupid MOH ruined the possibility of more DLC for this game.

No, there's another. The one with the big river running through it. A little town on one side, a destroyed bridge and big warehouse with UAV on the other side of the river.

Is it sad when i read the first sentence I immediately thought of Empire Strikes Back

But I know which one you are thinking of....the name escapes me

i don't know, i have mixed feelings on this. if there are 12 charges/mines, what harm does it do to arm right before detonation? in any case, this is another reason why communication is key.

otoh, if there is only one guy, and he has to set six charges/resupply self/do it again, then the charge being armed can be a bad thing.

orrrrrrrrr... hey, maybe you set the charge and no one is able to defuse it. what's wrong with YOU getting the points? should the C4ers get all the points?

i think a worse crime is blowing the charges even though you clearly see your buddy tossing more charges out. i mean, if the enemy is present, no, go ahead... but otherwise you just suicided me just so you could get the M-Com kill, you selfish jerk!

I know the one you're talking about too - the one you can spawn camp the back corner where guys come out of the rocks and the C flag is up on the hill to the right of it. What map is that?

Is it one of the Laguna maps (maybe Alta)? Are both part of Rush?

I looked on some wikia site at the list of maps and that's the only one I could see that I can't remember if both Laguna's are part of Rush.

if you have to quit out of a game do you keep all the points you've accumulated thus far?

The points does not count I believe.

correct. in my experience the next round has to load and you have to pretty much spawn for points from the previous round to count.

on a side note.. I got the rest of my kills for my weapons... Still no bronze pin.
wait you have to SPAWN in order for the points to save?

I thought everything did save based on the last autosave point (in Rush, both crates are destroyed, for example)
Game also saves whenever you change classes. If you change classes and then leave the game you will get credit for any points you have accumulated up to that point.
