Well that is a bummer to hear. I know I am not on as much as I used to but I still enjoy the game. I just want to have some fun, win or lose, try my best to help the team and go from there.

Exo, buddy, that's exactly why we like you.

to all: it's probably Sal's story to tell and i'm fuzzy on some of the details, but since i already opened the can (worms, not whoop-ass)... essentially, Link talked crap about Sal. specifically, Sal's tank-driving skills. now, class, we all know that Sal's a perfectly-fine tank pilot, just as we all know that Link essentially considers bitching to be good fun.

i think someone reminded Link that Sal could of course hear him. Link asked, 'Sal, are you in here?'

Sal, being a sly dog, didn't say anything (or said 'no, he's not here!')... and Link, being a bit of a jerk, started talking about Sal even further.

so, that is why i say it's one thing to try and offer constructive criticism, or even good-naturedly give your buddy trouble about getting a tank blown up... but what Link did seemed underhanded, and malicious.

forget the fact that IT'S JUST A GAME, but if you dislike something i''m doing, man the eff up and tell me to my face, please!

I don't mind playing with Link, but I won't go out of my way to do so. Link seems to be the type that talks a lot of smack, but can't handle it when people start smacking back.

LOL! I didn't hear what he said about me. I did hear snake tell him off. I've had Link on mute for a while now and he won't be coming off of mute.

If I remember correctly, we were attacking on stage 3 of the map with all of the tanks, that goes down the hill and over the bridge [to grandma's house] (I'm really bad with map names.) I believe that Link was getting pissed healing me up. I had two stationary ATs and a tank shooting at me. I killled the first AT and was attempting to destroy the tank that was stolen from us (as it was getting healed over and over again.)

I played the other night with snake, gismo, and Vash. We won some, we lost some, but overall we all commented on it being a fun, relaxing night of killing people. It is just not that way when I play with Link.

Oh, and as an aside, I think I'm going to start playing more hardcore. Even with the snipers, it is a lot more fun for me lately...

for anyone who ends up in a match with him-- just tell him to chill. you don't have to get upset or forceful, even. i think he is the way he is not because he's a mean-spirited person, but just because at some point, bullying others worked for him.

i think your approach is a good one.

I think all the snipers is why I like hardcore. Whenever I get sniped, I tend to take it VERY personal. I must eliminate all snipers from that point on. The few times I've played hardcore, it's like shooting fish in a barrel. Sometimes the snipers will be a little overwhelming but by and large, most of them suck and need to be put out of their misery. M95, Gustov, knife, whatever it takes, sniper elimination is just one of the many services I offer the BC2 community.

Yeah, I was in that game.

I though DG was talking about another time or something. That was the probably the last time I remember him smack talking teammates.

grandma livin' at Laguna Presa, maybe? Good map...

i've had this same experience. hey, thanks for the repairs, buddy, but you're on crack if you think it means i'm going to just sit here and keep getting shot at! there won't be anything left to repair, if i do that!

Sal, buddy... if you ever want to play some hardcore, i.... ahh, nevermind. i'm sure everyone knows, by now.

Why I didn't think to play HC when I was trying to get my sniper pins, I'll never know...

For me, it helps me sneak around more, removes most of the issues with hit detection, and allows me to kill 2-3 people per clip.

It would be nice if HC had more bullet drop, but that's a soap box I'll save for another time.

And Gio, I should be on tonight if you want to play some HC.

One thing I have noticed with HC when you lose, you lose really, really bad...

oh, that would have been too easy! one-hit kills on most weapons... far less susceptible to being spotted... wow!

but i agree. playing Hardcore has taught me to always. keep. moving. unless i'm indoors, i assume a sniper is trying to line me up. unless i've found really good bush cover, i'm running/walking/running/crouching/jumping/walking/crouching/running, etc.

and naturally, i will not be on tonight... it's D&D night...

I mute him every time.

**if i could this post would be laced with lots of profanities.**
ya he was saying stupid stuff over and over, he asked if sal was in the party and sal said no. so he starts going on about how he could do so much better in this tank blablbalblabla I told him he needed to shut the **** up or leave multiple times. We dont really give a **** if you play with us or not, go find another game for all i ****ing care. I've got an idea if you don't like it get the **** out, its an easy fix.
Then deleted him from friends list. Thats over.. I'm not in any parties with him anymore for very long unless i'm the party leader or someone is that will kick him when he is talking to much.

hardcore- Ya i remember we played it for a little bit in the beginning sal but everyone was wanting to play standard so we got away from it.. I'm down to play it whenever.
Giovanni, I left because I saw AVS'ers on that I could join. Nothing at all about your friends.

Playing hardcore has been fun for sniping. Don't know if I'd really want to do it for anything else though...

Oh man, I love this thread! Anecdotes, strategy, drama!!

Hey I was playing last nigt after I left the avs room. Got into some interesting matches. They were using the uav to blow up the mcom. The UAV was c4 loaded and one shot it destroys the Mcom. I'm guessing it takes two guys to do this? In any event, it's really useful. I remember their gamertags. There were three of them with xSLRx as their clan tag. I think they had really good team work going on. I got the "played for 5 days" pin. 10000 pts!

You mean the guy would land the C-4 loaded UAV on the M-Com, and then someone else would shoot it to blow it up? I would think you could just fly the UAV directly into the M-Com? Either way, interesting strategy, may have to try it.

I am not one to feed on drama. I don't care if I play with the missing Link or not. I find it hard deleting people from my friends list. But, I have been on the last two nights and noticed when he got on, most of the AVS'ers backed out. If that is going to keep happening, he will be deleted. All you guys know that I love anchoring the bottom of the scoreboard, but I will always be running to disarm or trying to hide to keep the charge going.

Last night I am in a party with Link and a friend of his and there is another party of AVS'ers in the game. So, me being the nice guy I am, stay with him and his buddy in a squad, and he ups and joins the AVS party without saying a word. I leave that party and join the AVS party and said something to him and he says, oh yeah I did drop ya, didn't I, hehehe. I am convinced the man, kid, whatever does not know teamwork. I look forward to playing with all you guys. It won't be hard to delete him from my friends list.

On a different note, Had good games with Gismo and Terryb yesterday.

Exo - Aim a little higher when sniping. I like to hear the round go through the helmet.

That's been around for a while now. One person will fly the UAV and others will slap c4 on it. When it gets close to the MCOM, you can blow the C4. When done properly, you can blow the c4 and not damage the UAV. It's basically the same as strapping c4 to an ATV of chopper. Usually we will only do it as a last resort type maneuver or if the other team is playing real douchey.

What was really weird last night and was the last match I was on, attacking Laguna Presa. As soon as we would blow the objectives and the next area would open up, those objectives were blown. I couldn't even get to the MCOMs before they were blown up. All I could think was man someone has their timing down perfect and they are carrying mucho c4. At the end of the match I checked the scores... two guys on the opposing team, -3000 and -4000 points. I guess they were blowing their own MCOMs.

Other than that, some good close games last night.

Oktober - UAV bombing is pretty easy if you have a full squad of four doing it. One flies the UAV, the other three throw 6xC4. You then fly the UAV right next to the create and tell the others to blow it. BOOM. It's a fun thing to do but also a bit of a dick move that I only like to do if we're down to half strength. Last night we were playing on a map with people that did it right away. That was freakin' annoying!

Regarding Link - he's not a team player at all. He's a points whore. He actually ignored a game invite I sent him a couple nights ago when it was Team AVS vs. Link (and a bunch of randoms, too). When I asked him why, he told me it was because he loved going up against friends. I actually loved listening to him call out all the things we were doing to his team - like when I was flying the chopper w/BigOrange and we just f-ed them up nonstop. It wasn't till I got shot down that I told him I was the one flying it LOL.

Got it, thanks Zath.

I have been enjoying the PC version of this game for a few months, but I only played the demo of the 360 version. I have a $25 gift card from Gamestop burning a hole in my pocket, and it sounds like a good time with you guys. I know it's really hard to predict, but do you think you guys will continue to play for a while longer? I love being part of a solid team/squad, it makes for good times.
Grim,

Since I was getting slaughtered trying to go up against you guys I figured I would try and stand back a little and see if I could help that way. That did not work either since you guys held the last mcoms on each of those maps.

And what's with being at the bottom of the list, I thought that was my spot.

Totally. I'm only at level 34 (out of 50), and am still learning new things. I don't plan on buying Vietnam when it comes out, and I'm not a big FPS junkie, so this is the only FPS I intend to own and play.

Also, thanks to whoever (giovanni?) suggested the FPS FREEK sticks. Just got them yesterday and holy crap do I feel so much better playing. My accuracy is much better, and I'm not overcorrecting as much. Best $10 spent IMO!

You don't need to shoot it. To blow up the MCOM with C4 on a UAV you need 3 people. Two to load up 6 C4 each on the UAV, one to drive it to the MCOM and then one of the two C4 guys to run close enough to the MCOM so that they can set off their C4.

We've done that a few times when we get low on tickets. I know of a couple of times that the MCOM was blown with a single ticket remaining. /high five

As far as Link, I removed him from my friend's list last night. The way he plays just annoys me. For example, we are walking through the other team last night and I arm A on the 2nd stage of the demo map. Hiding in a corner waiting for someone to try to disarm I see Link run in and start throwing C4 on the MCOM. So, I throw a grenade over to it so he blows himself up. The problem I have with C4'ing MCOMs when we are already winning is that it is extremely selfish and it causes the other team to leave. We were already at 12-8 and when the next map loaded, it went down to 12-4... If we are walking through the other team, why not try to just arm the MCOM and elongate the game...

My prediction is that with other games starting to come out, people will start to lose interest in this game. Personally, I have Reach and Force Unleashed II on preorder.

I will be getting Vietnam though as for what I figure will be $20, it will be a lot of fun.

We were defending the crates really well that's why they uav c4-ed the crate. You don't see it coming. But when you do, it's already too late. I should watch out for this next time. I was never a FPS. I started out with 3rd person, Gears and Lost Planet. Then got in to COD4 and now this. FPS is all I play now. It's highly addictive. Two games I'm going to get for sure is Black Ops, which is not that far away, and Gears3. That's it. Not a Halo fan. I brought Halo3 and didn't really like it that much. I like using real guns. But this game is still fun for me.
