I've only plat. two guns, the ak74 and AN-94. That's it and probably not another one after. But good 10000pts for plat. sure is nice.

Lowgn - medic's greatest ability isn't so much the revives; it's the zig-zag icon on the minimap. See one pop up and you know there's an enemy around there somewhere (assuming when you check to see who just died you see a non-sniper rifle). That's the best way I stay alive. Also you need to change playing style. Hang back and let your squadmates go in and (hopefully) call out enemies they run into.

Yeah, body armor works, but I am still a big fan of magnum ammo or marksman.

Hit lvl 49 last night, hope to squeeze in a couple more platinums before 50 - I have 600+ kills each with the AEK, UMP, and Saiga.

Nice!

Very nice Jon! We're getting very close to the point of having full side of level 50s

heck yeah, and when you add in non-AVSers like Capt Smokiee...
lol yeah already happening... removing our "AVS" tags helped for a while, but I guess the full 50 team is inevitable since I think a lot of us will be playing until BF3 comes out!

Have to agree about the UMP, I love that gun, maybe too much Got 3000+ kills between the UMP and UMP-SA.

Yeah, I've been thinking all of the higher levels in our matches may be making people quit out. I've got a spare gamertag from a family membership and I've been thinking about starting all over again. The perks come pretty quickly and once I unlock the guns I like I should be good to go.
Yeah, so then there will 11 out of 12 level 50s? I'd do it only if you want to unlock stuff again if you've done it all already.

There is something nice about having a "service record" beyond just achievements in the future when you can show your grand kids how you used to own on the battlefield also back in the day... haha well maybe not like that but you know what I mean

something else that might be nice? some carryover to BF3/BFBC3. in other words, if your gamertag has a savegame file associated with it that has a Rank 50 in bfbc2, then you start with some unlocks, or exclusive pallette swaps, etc.

something minor that doesn't totally change the game, but does acknowledge all the time/effort you put into playing a previous Battlefield title...

i'll be back on the battlefield soon - my level 39 bullet sponge can be the reason the other team sticks around.

It would be nice to see more games take advantage of avatar awards to do this.

They kind of do that with your veteran status don't they? It doesn't reward you for how high you ranked but the fact that you have played (or bought) many titles.
Yeah, they did this with BC2.

If you had any veteran status (played any previous Battlefield game on a ranked server at least once) you unlock the M1 Garand, and get to see the number next to your name on the leaderboard.

Hopefully we'll getting something better with BF3, and I'm sure they're going to continue it, if anything give a reward through the EA Gun Club which something new they're pushing across all FPS games it seems.

this is the perfect refinement of my half-baked thought. the reward doesn't have to be in-game, even-- an avatar award would be awesome!

you are correct... although as you mentioned, you get vet credit for a game if you've purchased it and played it for 2 minutes. i would like something minor that rewards you for actually putting 300+ productive hours into the game/reaching the highest possible rank.

They already do.

Hope to try going on tonight. I've been caught up in real life stuff plus reliving the glory RTS PC days with the Homeworld trilogy.

this may be old news, but i just got the recent Gameinformer... there is an interview with one of DICE's exec. producers.

i'm paraphrasing (uhm, somewhat), but in the piece, the interviewer more or less asks 'you released a good game... then didn't release ANY content for six months. are you on drugs?'

the response: 'bfbc2 was a bigger success than we thought. we did not account for that.'

later, the interviewer states, 'a lot of people stopped playing around Rank 25 because there are no real rewards beyond that. again, in your design team on crack?

the response: 'we didn't think most people would hit level 22. our calculations on how many people would reach level 22 was completely wrong. we thought people wouldn't play that much.'

wow. in other words, 'we spent all this time on this game that we knew was totally awesome, but we didn't think anyone would play it. at all, really.'

i find all that a bit disappointing. hindsight is 20/20, but DICE's business analysts must be really ******. maybe they will find a clue in time for Battlefield 3!

So what they said is that they thought it would be Medal of Honor.

It came out a few months after MW2, I would have thought the same thing. I think the demo hooked a bunch of people though. Without that, who knows. Plus MW2 has serious glitches the first few months plus it was kind of too far over the top. All worked out well for them in the end.

I think they got a lot of Word of mouth good advertising. I've gotten some people at work to buy it, who got other, etc. It's definitely a quality product.

They probably expected MOH to do better than BC2 and were stunned.

I think MOH did much better than they expected (sales). It really could have been a darn good game if they'd just had some more MP maps. Combat mission is an excellent MP game but they only gave us 3 maps. Granted they had 5 sections each but they really needed more.
Combat Mission is a terrific game mode. It's literally the only thing I play when I fire up MOH (which, IMO, is a nice middle ground between BF2:BC2 and COD).

Hopped on tonight and had some good lagless games. No kicks, no drops. Amazing.

Yeah, I had a blast last night. We only ran the other team off once but still managed to get everyone over to a new game fairly quickly.

I finally platinumed the air vehicles last night. I think that should be it for the vehicles for me cause I don't think I'll ever platinum the water vehicles or the light vehicles.

I've got the AN-94, ump specact, and the XM8 LMG due to platinum some time here in the next few weeks. Any recommendations for the assault class of f2000 vs stg? I'll probably run the Scar for engineer and MG36 for medic. I've still got a while with the m40 on recon but the only time I've ran recon lately I've used the m95specact to shoot down choppers.

Early in the evening last night we had 12 vs 12. When I checked the points half way thru the match, we had eight lvl 50's and I was the lowest at lvl 40. The other team had three lvl 50's and various lvl's as low as lvl 5.They were some good matches though. The other team just kept attacking. Had a good time. There was a couple matches with the infamous knifer. All this guy did was knife opponents. It was hilarious, everyone watching out for this guy. I can't remember his tag. I think it was "Only_1_Horizon".
