Welcome to the forum link. Your post was really well written. It's still almost impossible to get the "feel" of what was going on unless you were there. Sounds like you were both "right" in your own ways, but when you get to talking politics, it seems that no one ever wins, especially once the name calling starts (from both sides). You guys ought to just forget about it and move on.

It's obvious that I'm not the first person in the BFBC2 group that you've had an exchange like this with.

You may have a rep as a good player but IMHO you are better known as someone who has a habit of whining a lot, has a short fuse and likes to personally insult people you don't agree with.
In fairness I was warned about you and the fact that you like to dish it out but can't take it. I just didn't listen, assuming instead that you were mature like all the other folks we play BFBC2 with.

My problem with you on Sat. night came from the fact that:

1. You derailed the conversation away from BigO's story to rant about how much you hate people that aren't like you, as if we all wanted to hear your opinion.

2.When I challenged your views you chose to personally insult me even though you know nothing about me, my political views, life, etc...

3.When it was clear you couldn't defend your opinion you kicked me from the party, a party I was invited to by one of the other squad members.

4.When I sent you msg telling you to "grow up" you sent me back this long, incoherent screed telling me I would be doing the world a favor if I were to "kill myself".
(FYI - most people don't use cartoon characters to justify their behavior.)

In the 4 years or so on XBL I've never had a exchange like that with anyone in AVS or in any of the groups/clans/squads I've been a part of.
I don't have a problem with anyone else in the AVS/BFBC2 community or their friends either.

I play BFBC2 for fun, and I do enjoy playing with all of the people I've met so far.
To keep it that way I've muted you on XBL and added you to my "ignore" list on AVS so I don't waste anymore time on this.

I don't even think I've played with him yet (maybe I have - not sure), and a lot of this egging on is blatantly unfair, but I must admit, it is funny. I say this as a guy who is prone to Raging as well.

What does it say about me that I had surmised the gist of Link's statements in the XBL argument before he posted his side of the story here? Should I be proud (remarkable judge of "character"), or shamed (ridiculously prejudiced)? This is a crisis of faith (in myself) that I may never get past.

agreed with what said previously -- stuff like politics and religion don't need to be discussed when gaming especially in a large group like ours never leads to any good.

That's what happens when I disappear from the scene for 6 months.

You guys had a full squad anyway, so no biggie. Me and two buddies ended up absolutely obliterating the scoreboard in our games...got something like 14 straight Ace Squad ribbons with just the 3 of us raking in 20-30 kills each at 3-1 K/D R. Too bad everyone else on our team was going 0-14 to 1-20. These weren't noobs either; level 8-13 guys!

Did see something incredibly disconcerting last night for the first time. There were two guys with no ID tags running around that weren't taking damage. Tried shooting them, knifing them, everything, but to no avail. Didn't seem like they were hurting me either, however. Mods? Glitch? Anomaly? Anyone have an opinion or see this?

Perhaps these were some DEVs in the game watching the mechanics.

I've been playing BF3 on the PC, but I'm not liking it as much as playing BC2 with you guys. I'll be on this week.

Well, I swapped out my BF3 disc for BFBC2 for a couple of hours today, and man........it felt GREAT playing this again! It's like I never left! I had a lot of fun, a couple of LOL moments, which seem few and far between in BF3. I will be playing BC2 for the foreseeable future I think. Time to load up bfbcs.com and check out the stats!
