Had a great time the few maps I played the other day. Went 42-12 attacking Laguna Presa

I think I'll be switching back to BC2 as well. It's very rare that I even have fun on BF3 anymore.

Great game tonight with Smokiee and Shiles. Oasis, small teams. One of 2 level 50s on the enemy team kept teabagging whenever he killed us, so we teabagged back. Smokiee and I would even hop out of the tank and team-tabag. We eventually get them back to the last base, B crate taken. With 18 tickets left, we switch tactics and do the old C4 UAV bomb. First run was Smokiee's 6 sticks, then a return. The enemy was none the wiser, with the 50s occupied by the randoms in our team trying to flank into the base. Second was Smokiee's 6 and Shiles's 6. I got in, bombed the crate, and returned with the damage warning blaring away. One more hit, and I'm out - and our chances of victory all but gone. We load up with 12 last sticks, there are only two tickets left. I go out along the water to stay out of the machine gunner's line-of-sight, and slam in on the MCOM. BOOM! MCOM destroyed. We won with ONE ticket left!

You just can't get that in BF3.

Hate to say it, but I'd say it's probably the one thing they did right in BF3 Rush. I've been guilty of it in the past, but tank shelling and UAV bombing of the MCOM's are just cheap tactics in my book. They should have introduced the ability to repair the MCOM's to counter it. That being said, if you're playing against a bunch of d-bags, then game on.

After playing a ton this weekend, I'm disappointed in myself for not getting back to this sooner. As much as I love BF3 for Conquest and a lot of the improvements it brought, BC2 just can't be beat when it comes to Rush, destruction, and the map layouts. I really hope BC3 is a true successor to BC2 and not BF3. Probably a solid year and change before we find out.

I actually disagree. A tiny bomb placed on a crate will completely destroy it, but everything else doesn't do a thing? Makes no sense. Physics aside, I liked that you could damage MCOMs and miss it greatly in BF3. It forced defenders to go out and agressively seek out the attackers rather than simply camp it up in some hidey-hole nearby. This spread the action across many key points and required advanced tactics and teamwork, as opposed to having everything come down to one or two tiny hallways where it's little more than a gunslinging duel.

I remember games where we would have someone in a heavy/light tank with armor just sitting on the MCOM to block incoming rounds. Sure, it's cheap, but after they patched it so the MCOM takes 1/4 the damage from each explosive, if you can't stop an MCOM from blowing up, then shame on you!

BTW, have you ever played BC1? In that game, regular gunfire also damages the MCOMS!

It takes 24 of those tiny bombs to destroy it, but my point was more that if you can destroy an MCOM by not arming it, then you should be able to counter by being able to fix it. I can't say I'm much more in favor or C4'ing/mining an MCOM over UAV/shelling it, but at least you can't C4/mine it from a mile away. It's just a difference of opinion and mine is based on the lack of satisfaction in winning a match that way. Luckily, BC2 doesn't often come down to one or two tiny hallways where it might in BF3, and I get a lot more satisfaction out of arming and defending an MCOM than destroying it by other means.

My satisfaction comes from winning, one way or another. Damaging MCOMS to destroy them is just one more way to win. To me, that means an added layer of strategy. I can understand arming and guarding an MCOM, makes sense. And yes, people should be able to repair MCOMS.

Yes I'm considering rebuying it just to have this game always available on my console without searching for the disc... trying to talk myself out of it

Can get the ultimate version for like $20. Only thing it didn't have was Vietnam.
