Lexicon DC-1 vs. new receivers

Thread Starter
I currently have a Pioneer Ax2 receiver and have just seen a used Lexicon DC-1 (which is upgraded to 7.1) for sale really cheap.

I know it does not support the new HD-formats, but how would you guys think it would perform in dts/DD compared to my pioneer? I have seperate amps for all speakers so it is only the signal processing which is of importance.

As a former owner of a DC-1 V4.00, I say stick with your Pioneer. The 10 year old DACs in those Lexicons aren't that great for DD/DTS compared to newer chips IMO. I realize it should make a difference, but it does.

I upgraded my DC-1 to a Denon 4806CI receiver, and the improvement was drastic.
