OK noob question, I have just received my SR707, am very excited and am trying to set it up. I have never owned a receiver before, but am quite technically minded. Things are kind of going well, but I am stumbling on the video signal in and out. Unfortunately I don't have an HD TV with HDMI (I know, I know, we are being patient) I have an old SD tube TV with composite, s-video and amazingly it has component input too. I am trying to connect everything to the receiver and ideally output it all through the component. I'm guessing HDMI input won't output through component, so I will have to figure out another way to connect my popcorn hour and DVD player. I have a crappy digital terrestrial set-top-box that only outputs composite video. I would does anyone know how to get the composite or the S-video inputs to output over the component monitor output? I can't even get the composite input of this box to output over the s-video connection. I am not expecting the recever to upconvert, but if I can't do this, I am still going to be stuck with switching between inputs on my TV. I would like it all to be output through the SD component if possible, if not at minimum through the S-Video connection.
Basically can it take any analogue input and convert it to SD component or S-Video (if it can convert from HDMI to this too would be great) and if so how do I set that up? The manual is not very clear on this.
I hope that makes sense, thanks in advance.
