I have no complaints with this unit's ability to generate terrific audio to my speakers and sub. The problem comes with my seasoned and wayward foe, input lag
Now, for the PC, I'm currently running DVI from the video card to HDMI on the receiver, then getting audio from PC to receiver via coaxial. Receiver then feeds the video signal to the display via another HDMI to DVI (it's an old 65" 360 pound Mitsubishi rear-projection TV, soon to be replaced). I was worried that 25 feet of A/V cable from PC to receiver would cause problems, but it is super snappy. PC works well enough with Arkham Asylum and Dead Space that I don't notice (except for lots of frame tearing during fast movement sequences, thanks 30hz refresh rate). CoD 4 proves a teensy bit of lag, but it does not negatively impact the gameplay.
Now to Mr. Xbox. It connects to receiver via HDMI. I ran the Rock Band test and the Mega Man test. Rock band reports 114 ms video lag, and 43 ms audio lag. Mega Man has me reacting just a hair too late too often.
What can I do to correct this behavior?
