hello all, couple of months ago I wrote here that I was scared about so many posts with the broken HDMI board. It happened to me in Aug this year. I took it to the service and is still there since then. Some days ago, they told me that it would cost me 300EUR to change the god damn HDMI board!! WTF?? 300EUR for something that eventually will go dead again?? Just unbelievable!
some funny stuff: before it went dead I recomended one of my friends to buy the Onkyo 626 (for those that are looking to buy 626). That one died as well
when I looked on the waranty document it said: '...waranty 24 months, medium life span 36 months'!! So basically, if the onkyo dies just after 3 years, we don't have any reasons to be surprised because Onkyo told us that it would last for 3 years....
I also started to look on the ebay to buy a second hand receiver and guess what: 80% of the av receivers being sold on ebay are Onkyo
why is that? because pretty much all Onkyo customers are afraid that soon they will have the same suprise.
As a conclusion, I will NEVER EVER recommend this piece of crap called ONKYO to anybody even if they intend to buy a pen that wears the logo ONKYO!
coming back to my piece of crap AV receiver: do you think that taking all the audio signals into the digital audio inputs will somehow solve the problem and would allow me to still use this AV receiver?
I will be more than happy to receiver your ideas.
One frustrated Onkyo customer to have spent 700EUR for this junk.
