paint demo, guying actually painting is talking to audience and haphazardly commanding color changes with just teh name of teh color and the system reckonizes every command.
this is going to be hard to sell but you demo it ocne on good morning america and all the soccermoms will flock.
Disagreed. While the NXE is a help, the 360 still remains way too intimidating to that sort of person. The technology is cool, sure, but how many games will there be for it? I mean, as mentioned above, You're in the Movies didn't exactly catch on. Sure it's not as advanced as this, but it's sort of the same thing as far as the 'casual gamer' is concerned.
And more importantly, the 'soccermom' who has bought a Wii isn't going to buy another gaming console.
Edit: To clarify, I'll probably check this out myself and I hope it works well, but I don't really agree that the casual gamers will automatically flock to this after seeing a demo.
Guys, its a vision system.
You want to hold a plastic racket for tennis? Go ahead.
A plastic steering wheel, a sword, a ray gun? Anything.
Its implied in the tech; if it works with *nothing* it'll work with *everything*.
More impressed by the facial and voice recognition stuff, though.
Suddenly, the new experience interface makes a lot more sense...
Peter Molyneux enters the stage (the guy behind Fable). I love this man. He’s pitching Natal’s “connection to our world” and showing the technology working at Lionhead studios.

many houses who own wiis own a 360 meaning this will be a drop in teh bucket. but frankly this stuff is just in testing phase for now. it's likely going to be standard in the next xbox.

You really think so? I mean, I do personally have a Wii and a 360 and love both, but in the casual gamer 'soccermom' demographic you mention, my sister, parents, their friends, my roommate's sister, and a few of my friends who are all non-gamers own a Wii, and not a 360, and no matter how cool this looks, I don't see them getting another console.
And sure it's awesome that this technology seems to work well and you also have the processing power of the 360, but all of the people I know in that demographic don't really care about HD or raw power or any of that.
It would have been interesting to see Natal in use with a real game, not just mini-tech demo games. It could have some potential, but today it looks like a gimmick. Let's see what this looks like a year from today.
