What inexpensive 720p pj is best for me? HC1600? HD65? Something else?

Alright:

I bought a crappy TDP ET10U projector and just returned it because it lags.

Now I want a 720p projector. Realistically, it will be used about 1/3 each for:
-movies (DVDs, blu-ray soon, and 720p iTunes content off my MacBook)
-gaming (mostly SNES, PS2, and PC and I'd run the PC games at native res)
-computer monitor

The main factors for me are:
1) lag/motion delay/latency/whatever - no matter how stunning the picture is, if there's noticeable lag it will ruin it for me
2) sharpness/color/contrast
3) brightness and noise

I've been looking at the HC1600 and HD65 and HATING myself for not getting the X9 while it was $600).

Any thoughts on how these would perform?

Any other projector suggestions or thoughts/input?

I'm wanting to spend between 500 and 750 dollars.


Please please please help... I'm new to projectors and so lost as to what to do. Thanks in advance!!
