True Blood "enhanced" view

Anybody know how to turn off the PIP commentary? I have gone into features and enhanced view is not turned on but I keep ketting the PIP pop up that I can see but not hear. Very distracting and I find no way in the menus or in my player settings to turn it off.

What a coincidence! haha. I started to watch Tru Blood last night and loved it. Superb show. I watched it on my Sammy BD P-1200.

Since you too have a Sammy (model doesnt matter) I suggest you turn off the Screen Message thing from the Menu of the player, that might work. Where the HDMI Setup, TV setup, etc is at, there is going to be an option that will let you turn off the Screen Message on the player. That worked for me for Mamma Mia, I kept getting the U-Control feature logo and i didnt even turn it on, then I went into to turn off the Screen Message and it solved the problem.

The only con is that it'll take ALL on screen messages for when you press the; Next, Rewind, Fast Forward, Stop, Play, so on and so fourth.

Hope that helps.

p.s Its all a matter of Firmware, by the next Firmware it should fix the problem.

I figured this would be a complaint about the enhanced. as its the only way to veiw the extras. which is rather frustrating to me as id rather watch some of them seperatly.

I am having the same problem with my Samsung BD-P2500 (the one with pandora and netflix) while trying to watch True Blood. The enhanced viewing PIP screen is driving me crazy. I tried turning off screen messages, but that did nothing. Any other suggestions short of buying a new Blu Ray player?

Damn that sucks, no problems on my PS3 just picked the set up yesterday.
Probably a dumb question but your firmware is up to date?

lol I actually thought my PS3s BD drive broke yesterday, I was watching the 1st episode of True Blood and it froze about 15 minutes in. I checked to see if I had the newest firmware and I didn't so I downloaded it went to play disc one again and got a numbered error code. So I turned the system off and back on and the disc loaded fine but it froze at the same spot took the disc out there was some kind of smudge on the disc, wiped it off and it played fine.

Funny you mention problems with the PS3. . . I picked up True blood last night, and the blue light on the front comes on, but the disc never shows up. . . same problem with every disc in the set. All of my other BDs play just fine. Here's hoping I don't get any grief for returning it!

Hi - I have a BD-P2500 as well and was experiencing this problem. I tried turning off "Screen Messages" as well but that did not resolve the issue so I turned them back on. I think I have discovered a "dirty fix" until the firmware is next updated (I have the most up to date version now).

1) Put in disc and wait for main menu was usual.
2) Click "Episodes" and find episode # you wish to watch.
3) Click "Play WITH Enhanced View." The episode will start.
4) As it starts, hit "Pop-Up Menu" button on your remote.
5) Go to Features and under "Enhanced View," "On" should be selected. Select "Off"
6) Pop-up picture-in-picture should not activate for the remainder of the episode.

That's it. Somehow starting it in "enhanced" and then turning it off manually fixes the issue in a way that starting it with enhanced off doesn't. Which really doesn't make sense but whatever.

Let me know if you try this and it does/doesn't work. I've watched the first 3 episodes so far and it seems to work. Note, you'll need to repeat this process for each episode you watch (including if you STOP playback during an episode).
