They called for a brown top so away I mixed. Same as before- 5000 psi concrete mix, sand to help with flow, and colorant added to water to get the desired effect. I wont bore you with pics of us mixing the stuff up, you know what to do.
You can see the re-bar sticking out just a little. I pushed it in a little later.
Now this is no one man job. This is a two or three man job. I am gloved up and have my help shovel the mix into the mold starting around the edges. I dig in with my fingers making sure there are no voids. Pay particular attention to anything you added- in my case fossils.
As the mix comes up to the edge the second (or third) person starts in with the vibration. I use a reciprocating saw with the blade off, running the the guard around the mold. When I have the surface as level as I like, the gloves come off and I start in with the rubber mallet striking the underside of the mold to dislodge any bubbles that are holding on.
