Hello All,

Sorry to sound like a COMPLETE dork on this one, but the remote for the RX-V465 has me a bit confused, as relates to controlling other components.

Right now I have my Samsung BD-P1500 connected on HDMI 1, and and HDMI out to my Sony KDS-50A2000. I have my DirecTV H20 receiver connected to the Sony via HDMI and then to the RX-V465 via optical on AV1 for audio.

I was able to use the Samsung codes for the Blu-Ray on HDMI 1, but how do I try and enter codes for the DirecTV receiver and the Sony? The DTV H20 is only connected via optical to AV1 and the Sony isn't directly connected to the RX-V465 at all.

Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

1- To set the remote to control DTV H20 on AV1, Press the program button with a ball point pen, then press AV1, then enter the code for DTV H20 - see the codes under Satellite - 4017 thru 4157 .. start with one at a time till it work. To use the remote, select AV1 and then the controls should control DTV H20.

2 - Regarding programming the TV Power on/off button (for your Sony) - I am looking for the same answer. I got around it by programming the TV remote code to AV1 - nothing is connected to my AV1 and it seems to turn TV on / off.

I would also like to know the correct way of programming the TV controls.

In your case, since you are only using the optical from DTV H20, you can try to put it in AV4 and use AV4 to control the DTV.

In general, the RXV-465 remote is not adequate for channel recall etc that I use often. It will give some basic functions to change the channels up/down, enter numercilly for the DTV = but not everything you will like to do.

I'm trying to change inputs to the Scene function so that I can turn devices on and off with one touch.

I have my satellite in scene 1 and DVD Player in scene 2, they are routed thru HDMI 1 and 2

I can select HDMI 1 and 2 and press the source power and the boxes will turn on, but I can not figure out the right combination to assign them to the scene buttons.

Here's what it says in the manual.

Register the remote control code of an external component to the desired input source (I did that)

Press Input Selection keys on the remote control for the input source whose remote control code was registered in step 1 for about 3 seconds while pressing down SCENE key whose assignment you want to change.

I've tried different possible combos of the above (holding both simultaneously, one for 3 seconds then the other, etc.) and I can't get it to work.

It will turn on the amp to the proper input, but no joy for the external sources.

If you can help, thanks in advance.

OK I've got my Panasonic TH P42U20Z connected to RX-V65 via AV1 and have input the panasonic remote code so the TV can be controlled via the TV control keys. Scene TV is set up to give me TV audio via AV1 so that's good. BUT I can't figure out how to get the Scene TV button to power on the TV as I understand it can. Any suggestions?

I think the scene buttons only turn on the AVR and go to the corresponding input. You still have to turn on the input device (your TV in this case)
