Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn (PS3 / PS4) - Page 6

There is a learning curve for sure. It took me a few days to get used to it in the PS3 beta. I'm already used to it again.

Send me a friend request in game, it seems they don't have an option to auto add friends from your psn. It seems to require player names. Reimi Fairbrooks was the name I chose for my character.

I haven't played any FF online so I'm way behind. Xars Nexus btw....

So when I started playing I noticed there was no sound at all which kind of sucks. Also when I exited the game and tried to load up a movie it continued with no sound. I tried to exit and reboot.

System froze. Had to hard boot the system. Anyone else had the above issues?

No issues with the beta on my end during the two hours I played last night. Made it to level 5 so far.

I never got the e-mail with code after making a SE account.

Thankfully, Gaf chose server 4, so 3 should be pretty solid.
What server should I join up with ? What are most people in? I think the only one I was able to get in was 6 but since it crashed I do not know if it saved or not
post #158 of 315
I know 3 of us are on beta 3. When you get to the end of character creation you have to hit the reset tab. It should let you join server 3. My characters name is Jade Zander. Xars Nexus is Nexus and Reimi Fairbrooks is Pendrag0on.

I've spent close to 5 hours trying to even get this ps4 beta to work. It's like they shut it down so you can't register or log into the beta anymore.

I kept having that problem today. I ended up making a gmail account to see if they'd send an email to me there. They ended up sending me emails through the new email account, but not my older preferred one. Even though I got confirmation info and can log into the Square Enix website. The PS4 beta will NOT recognize my id or password. I've changed my password to try to see if that will help, but it doesn't.

I think there is a lot of interest so its backlogged.

I finally got it to work.cool.gif

Hopping on using my 4G this time. Apparently SE thinks that any new internet provider log in is a hacker and makes me reset my password...

Did you guys play all day!? 10 levels behind when I logged in...

I didn't see much point in setting up that party, I never saw anyone. We need to figure something out.

On the plus side, according to my phone's usage tracking, over 3 hours of play only used 70MB of data. I see no reason to not play more often. biggrin.gif

Yea it took all freaking day to get out of town...Dash made it over to our area and I'm finishing up my last quests before I can leave. We partied up but I hit a part where I had to solo so I dropped back out again.

I unlocked the ability to change classes. I'm trying out the hand to hand class, it seems more interesting so far, too bad each class has to be leveled up separately.

Finally! Can go to bed. Got to the next town and hit the aethernet deal.

I work on Saturdays so I will be starting up on Sunday. Thanks for the server trick. Server 3 it is, just to confirm? I'll see if I can do some catching up so I'm not a boat anchor if we group. Does it let you form guilds or battle groups (can't remember what they're called here)?

Yup server 3 and you can party up.

Game is ok so far - as for paying a monthly fee for it that has yet to be determined.

And still I have no sound in game and after I close out of the game I do not have sound in the psn menu.... Have to reboot
post #171 of 315
I think its worth a monthly fee but I'm used to MMOs from days gone by so that doesn't bother me. My problem is doing this at all. I blew the whole day on it yesterday, not that I wouldn't have been doing anything else anyway but my wife may not appreciate this tongue.gif

I'm curious how this is compared to Elder Scrolls? From what I've read ESO is a love or hate thing without much middle ground and I think more people will play FF anyway.
A MMO would have to wow me to get me to pay monthly. Even Dragon's Dogma gameplay would be a tough sell to me as an mmo.

I'll pick a class for phase 2 that I will carry into my month of play once the beta ends, and hopefully that is enough finish the story before my sub is up.

Airships opened up! Sweet!
Level 15 quest to unlock the airship?

This game feels like it would have been better as a co-op RPG instead of an mmo.
Not sure what level I needed but yea. Had to go to the next two areas and drop letters off but all three towns are opened up.

The system in FF14 can be frustrating especially when you are about 5-6 lvls above the quest level. Haven't play much using the DS4 (bought a PS vita and been testing remote play), but I prefer this game with a mouse and keyboard. Looks great when compared to high end PC, didn't think SE would do a good job.

I'm going to spend some time leveling Pugilist to compare to Gladiator, I'm just not feeling the swordplay so far. (Not that you get many swords early on...)
I'm going to buy a month or two I think. I enjoy it but I feel it will get boring after 100hr

Girlfriend is hooked on those games so maybe you will get to party w her. Keep it clean
post #179 of 315
Friend of mine plays on PC and he was telling me they add content periodically so it doesn't really go stale.
Don't want to hear that. Lol

More talking about the battling and such. Very repetitive
