Long time lurker, read and have learned A LOT from all of you, just want to thank everyone. This site is such a great resource
Anyways, I picked up 790 about a week ago. I've got it paired up with a set of Polk RM7s (4 sats and a centre) and a Polk PSW111 woofer.
My Audyssey Results:
Front L: 10.0 ft
Front R: 9.7 ft
Subwoofer: 11.0 ft
Surround L: 5.2 ft
Surround R: 4.9 ft
Front L: -1.0 dB
Centre: -4.5 dB
Front R: -1.0 dB
Surround R: -4.0 dB
Surround L: -2.0 dB
Subwoofer: +2.5 dB
LPF for LFE: 80Hz
Now, not to beat a dead horse, but it's seeming to be a common occurrence with the 790 / Audyssey, but I find I have to turn my main volume up to around -23 dB to -15 dB for my Cable box (Component / Optical) for an acceptable level. I know it's subjective, but for a typical not too loud / not too quiet level. At -35 dB it is almost inaudible.
Similarly for Blu-Ray / DVD (Sammy BD-P2550 - HDMI) it's around the same level of -25 dB to -16 dB for decent levels.
Everything is sounding fantastic (at least to mine & my gf's ears) but I guess I'm looking for reassurance that everything's functioning as expected and that I'm not over-stressing anything.
I mean is there any way to verify everything and that for some reason the amps are not underpowered? (I know this might be a silly question)
Most of receivers I've used in the past would be absurdly loud at -25 dB let alone -15 dB, hence my concern.
Thanks again for all the help everyone!!!
