Finally its my turn to report some strange behavior!
Here's my 1910's setup:
- Panasonic G20 plasma's optical output drives the TV optical input (O1).
- HDMI-1 assigned to a WDTV media box.
- HDMI-2 assigned to an LG BDP.
- Component video C1 assigned to a Wii
- Component video C2 assigned to an original Xbox.
- HDMI-CEC disabled on TV.
- HDMI-CEC enabled on 1910.
- January 2010 build with October 2009 firmware patch.
- AVR 1910 E3, Main Ver 00.89, Sub Ver 00.24, DSP Ver 50.13, A PLD: A2990012
Usually, everything works great but for one exception.
If the WDTV box is on (WDTV doesn't need to be playing any media, it just needs to be powered up from standby) and then the 1910 switches to the TV source from any source, the TV audio is intermittent, cutting in and out from silence every 2 seconds.
But if the WDTV is powered down to standby, and the 1910 is selecting the TV or is made to select it, the TV audio is normal! No cutouts.
This does not happen when the LG BDP is playing a movie on HDMI-2. Also, I've tried plugging the WDTV into other HDMI ports - the problem persists on all HDMI input ports *except* when the WDTV is plugged into HDMI-4. Interestingly, I've had HDMI-4 unassigned ever since initial setup. But today I decided to assign it (to V.Aux) so that I could try it with the WDTV.
In addition, when I plug the WDTV into one of the TV's spare HDMI input ports, and then switch the 1910's source to the TV, the TV audio is fine and does not cut in/out.
Finally, I've tried swapping the WDTV's HDMI cable (purchased from Monoprice) but that has no effect. I don't know it its safe to swap HDMI cables with live equipment so I always swap with components powered down.
I can continue to use the WDTV on HDMI-4 but would like to fix this issue if possible. Thanks.
Edit: With more experimenting, I've found that not only the TV audio but the tuner audio is also affected by the WDTV. Perhaps all audio sources might be affected but I'll have to try that later,
