Hi All,

I need help i am down to these 4 subs and i have no clue which one to get all of them have amazing reviews.

Epik Subwoofers: Conquest Subwoofer:$1'645 Can

SVS Sound: SVS PB13-Ultra: $1'799 Can

HSU research: ULS-15: $1'206 Can

Seaton Submerssive: $1'995

Velodyne DD15 & DD18 $2'100/$2900

Which out of these 4 is king please help These are the 3 best subs out there from what i have found. The reason why JL Audios F113 is not there its too $$$$$

The Conquest will go louder and deeper than the other two and even the JL F113. Too bad Epik does not sell them anymore. Also, they don't ship international.

That is not true. The Conquest will go louder than the other two, but either of the other two will actually go deeper than the Conquest.

For just a little bit more money you could get a seaton submersive, which, from what I have read, would outdo all of those subs in output and extension. You are already spending a lot of money on a sub, why not spend a little bit more and get the best?
Yep, the Conquest is out...I question your pricing too. SonicBoom sells the PB13 for $1899 and $1999 (Can) plus shipping depending on the finish option. Hsu you'd have to a quote for and I think with currency, shipping, taxes, etc, you're going to be above $1423 Can. The Ultra will have considerably more output than the Hsu in ported mode.
Go with a submersive. Digs deeper and possibly more musical. I don't think you will miss the small loss in output.
Cons: more expensive and you may have to wait for one.
I would stay away from HSU in Canada. I got a outrages quote from them.
Are these prices quoted or did you just apply the current exchange rate?

The Conquest shows at out of stock. This may mean they will be replaced with something new as Epik did with the rest of their products.

SonicBoom shows the PB13 at $1,899.

If YOSH saying that SB (SVS) is in Richmond Hill means they are near you, then you wouldn't have any shipping cost.

If price is a major factor, then make sure you look at delivered prices.

Other than that, you have a good list. Some people just can't accept your list as your list. You could probably include a dozen or more subs on your list, but that won't help you make a choice.

+1, though shipping and importing may come at a cost....

But worth looking into....

You posted louder and deeper for the Conquest...while it will have more overall output, it will not go deeper.

seaton submersive is more expensive then the other 3
post #14 of 229
The ULS 15 went on sale today, you should recheck the price to see how that discount affects you. At $1099, that is an excellent price, this may be the push I need to buy a dual-drive.

And for good reason....

But it sounds like the Ultra13 is your best option, and I hardly think you will be disappointed either.... Its a great performer...

Its so hard to choose, because you cant just walk in to the store and listen. i want this to be the last sub i buy for a while. I still have to buy a blue ray player, Pioneer elite BDP-09FD or the new OPPO BDP 83.

But right now focusing on the sub :-)

No one knows for sure except Chad. He has not yet offically announced whether or not the Conquest will be back.

I can vouch for the Ultra 13, it has been the best sub I've had so far. I've had M&K and other SVS (and even had the JL F113 in my room for a night).

If you can't pop for the extra $$ for Seaton's SubMersive which people have directly compared with all the excellent subs on your list, then I think the combination of WAF/customer support/extension/output/flexibility of the SVS Ultra wins out.

But... if you can eek out just a bit more $$, get yourself a SubMersive.

As I said earlier, you have all excellent subs in your list. You can find plenty of high praise posts for all of them all throughout this forum. With the Conquest out of stock and, if true they don't ship out of the US, you can drop that one. I would replace it with the Submersive. Now get 'delivered' quotes from each and see where you stand.

Yeah, I can't imagine them discontinuing the Conquest. It does seem "different" from the current Epik line up though. If it is discontinued, I wonder if it will be replaced by something bigger and badder....

Personally, I would not doubt that a bit

That is only a driver. You would still need a properly designed enclosure and an amp.

I'm sick of people not reading the post.

The OP is in Canada, so HSU is out.
