Hey guys I'm new to the forum but have been reading here for a few months. I'm getting ready to move into a new home and want to get me a decent surround system for about 6-700 bucks.
I am almost set on the Onkyo 6100 that can be had for around 550-600 but am still torn a little bit on maybe getting separates. The other thought I had was picking up a reconditioned Onkyo TX-SR606 for around 350 and then finding some speakers for around 350 to go with it.
Here is where I need the help, anyone have recommendations of a speaker set or separates that would be equal to if not better than the ones that come with the 6100 and is withing my general price range?
Some other information that should be helpful for your advice:
22x14 foot room, I'll be using half of it for the setup so about 10x14 area used with the rest out to the left as extra space.
The room is partially underground so I wont be using any fancy materials on the walls, just a plain wood finish.
Since the area is fairly small I'll prob. only use a 5.1 set.
Toshiba Regza 42" 1080p and will be using a PS3 for games and DvD's/BR Discs.
The amount listed is where I would love to keep it at but can afford to go a little higher, maybe 800-900 on the top end.
