It should interesting, I hope less Automated online or atleast a mode that makes it feel less Automated in terms of Aiming.

But in reality the single player seems to a huge focus and I am hyped to see the story, that trailer was like full blown movie trailer or something, scary how games are blurring that line.

i am more of a battlefield guy (even though i was disapointed with the last one)..

KZ2 is making it a pretty easy wait...
Definitely can wait! Eagerly awaiting BF:BC2, MAG and Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising.
This game really isn't even on my radar. BFBC2, MAG and many other games take precedence over it.

Ditto.

On another note, played a little MGS:O today. Damn that game takes some skill.

I'm pretty excited about the SP campaign. IW did a fantastic job with MW1's campaign, best I've ever played. Snipe mission, Death from Above, the atomic explosion and the ending on the bridge just to name a few memorable moments.

I may get it just for the SP campaign. Despite CoD:W@W's ridiculous single-player effort, the story was still good from Treyarch. I enjoyed MW's campaign too.

The game is fun no matter what - I am looking forward to it.

I completely agree. The SP for COD:4 is the best SP campaign I have ever played. This is "THE" only game on my radar this year.

Wow, you must not play a lot of games...

Still it's your opinion to have.

Is Treyarch working in conjunction with IW on this one, or is it all IW again?

It's IW only.

Not true...I do play more than just COD:4. I played MGS:4, KZ2, COD:W@W, Uncharted....but very few impacted me like COD did. I guess maybe I felt a little extra patriotic when I played it becuase of 9/11.
I don't play COD:W@W online except for the occasional Zombie mode game, and I have played the SP on COD:4 four of five times now...and have yet to do that with any other game I have purchased for the PS3. I wasn't impressed with Treyarch's COD at all.

From what I understand, IW has separated itself from the COD franchise on this one and it is named Modern Warfare:2, with no Call of Duty but it's still an Activision game. "Somebody correct me if I'm wrong"

Definite pre-order for me. Looked like some funky stuff going on in the trailer though. Snowmobiles?

Tyrant, you ever play the SP campaign of COD4? If not, seriously do yourself a favor. The MP I can understand how its not some peoples style but there is nothing bad to say about the SP. Top-notch.

Did you miss the scuba/underwater clip? It does look interesting though. I'm sure I will pass though as I passed on COD:4 as well. It just wasn't for me.

I WILL have this game on release day. If it can one up COD4, it's going to be awesome. As is my custom with COD games, I'll play about 75% of the way through single player, then get antsy and just play online from then on. Looking forward to this one bigtime

No problems in waiting here, Call of Duty games aren't worth more than $20 for me. I haven't even gotten Call of Duty 4 yet since its still $40+, and I haven't gotten around to playing part 3 yet despite owning it for a few years.

I'll get Call of Duty 4, the WWII sequel on PS2 and 360 (Since they're different games), and Call of Duty 4 part 2 when they all get cheap.

ummm ok. COD4 was fantastic. period. it is not my opinion dude - it is a fact. do yourself a favor - buy it.

Hmm. No, it's still your opinion!
insane, cant wait.
Some of the best news I've seen is that the SP will be more than the 6-10hr SP that COD4 was.
I searched to see how much the premium edition with the NV goggles cost but it hasn't been released yet....it's gotta be $250+
post #26 of 766
Already pre ordered. BTW, I also Loved the SP of COD4. I agree that it was one of the best campain I've experience.
150 for the night vision goggle version. They are just cheap plastic. They work but I wouldn't take them into combat thats for sure lol.

I can't wait for this game too. I bought the first mw for PC back before I had a ps3. Then when I got my ps3 I bought waw for ps3. I didnt think I'd ever like shooters on consoles but now I actually prefer them rather than on pc. I only wish I had mw on ps3 instead of pc now since I think its a better game than waw.
Yeah, my guess is the NVG's are just a normal cam IR-assisted "night vision" projected on a sub-res LCD. i.e. that green eye'd crap you see from a hand held video camera.

Don't expect to take these hunting or to the front lines.

COD4 campaign was absolutely fantastic, with only one glaring exception. I can't stand the Jihad factory that's in every building, a seemingly endless supply of baddies will continue to pour out if you don;t rush forward. If they fix that issue, this will be a day one purchase for me.

That was something noted that they were very aware of in COD4 and something they worked very hard on eliminating.
