Thanks everyone. I will check that out this evening. Supposed to get 3 more designs for emailing a pic of my pre-order receipt last week.

Amazon still has the $10 future game credit when you order Forza 3 by October 31 (not just for the pre-order).

Also, you can get $20 off the wireless racing wheel when you buy both together.

Excellent news. I guess the fan backlash worked! Though I'm sure Turn 10 would claim, "We always intended to add these features after launch."

They have stated in the past what they plan on doing prior to today for example with the matchmaking to the compression pics on Forza.net. They said in the past that they wanted to get past the launch periods since they were a week apart.

I am looking forward to racing the lower class cars online. I'll be glad when they add the additional options.

The playlists are determined by Turn 10, similar to how Halo 3 playlists are changed without the need for a patch. It is all matchmaking server side. So there is no need for a patch to change the public multiplayer options.

It actually has always been their intention to adjust the public multiplayer as the community comes up with new game modes or desires. They said this months ago.

I hope they fix the auction house as well, it's painfully slow at the moment. Searching for cars works fine but when you go to look at the cars you've bid on sometimes it will not load, other times it takes 20-30 seconds. Really odd.

I'm still trying to find out what exactly is different with the VIP thingamajig. I got the LE also, entered all the codes, but for some reason, I don't see anything that says "VIP" in the game, so I don't even know if its working properly.

Any help guys?

Good question! I can't even find the Theme that was supposed to come with the inserts.

There should be a little crown by your name on the Leaderboards and if you log into http://forzamotorsport.net/ it'll say VIP by your name. Also, Turn 10 has acknowledged the Theme isn't downloading and said a fix will be available 11/02.

I think the theme was only for the PAL versions

Amazon UK

Edit: My mistake what was exclusive to the PAL version was the Avatar stuff. So yeah I am with you....where the hell is my theme lol.

If you switch back and forth, it loads faster.

...Man those R class cars are hard to handle! I'm never doing that again. For some reason, the slower cars seem a lot more pleasing this time around.

Hasn't it always been that way? I am man enough to admit one of the reasons I always preferred the lower classes was that I sent them hard into the walls a lot less frequently. Though I also liked the fact that "I could drive this car in my lifetime" and the larger canvas that some of the VWs and Audis provided when I wanted to lay some paint down.

As faster the car gets, it get more and more important that you tune your car for any particular race. Adjusting camber, shock stiffness, wing drag, etc. really makes the car a lot easier to handle.

And remember to pump your accelerator when coming out of turns.

I got my LCE yesterday but didn't get to play it today. So I popped it in, and there was an update for Xbox. Then there was an update for the game. Then I had to enter codes for the pre-order Audi, and the extra Sidewinder track, and then the LCE stuff. Then I loaded up the game and then I had to install the 2nd disc. It's like a friggin PC game lol.

But it's cool. Graphics are not very realistic but very beautiful. My Ford Fiesta sucks balls.

Right... It was their intention to launch with lame multiplayer options.

My gripe isn't with the play types; it's with the inability to adjust (or find) public lobbies with different settings/classes/rules. If all they're going to do is just mix up the circulation, then that's not a "fix." If that's all they're doing, then I retract my earlier expression of excitement.

Damn, and that was the first positive thing I've seen you say about the game.

BTW has anyone installed this game to their hard drive? The load times really are very long, maybe that helps.

edit: the calendar mode is a huuuge improvement over the old, Forza 2 format. It reminds me of PGR.

Yes, they are the same as the demo, which was sorta long but not unbearable.

In FM2 the R class cars were perfectly tuned and braked on a dime. The main issue with racing R class imo was being too cautious, braking too early because the cars handled unexpectedly well. Well I did Sedona and I couldn't drive in a straight line, it felt like I was driving thru oil.

Also curious about saving disc 1 to the HD... would it help any?

I have all of mine on the HD and I don't consider the load times long at all.

I would say yes. Plus its quieter. Most of my "staple" games or games that I know I will be playing alot in the near future go on the HD

So how does the time trials work? Because it looks like a time trial is a specific car on each lap. Do they rotate them out or am I missing something?

Because, well, I think I could spend weeks just in that leaderboards section.

I'm only annoyed by the things that are wrong because they're so close to being right. It's without a doubt a fun game.

The driving model in this game is a thing of beauty. I'm absolutely stunned at how good it is.

Yeah mate, what he said. They were waiting on our valued input to add novel concepts like lower class racing. You don't just come up with this **** by yourself. Like they needed us to patch in tuning in multi, think tank ftmfw.

Joking aside, they ARE reacting. That's good. Doesn't mean I buy the bs excuses that come with it. No one intended this.

Installing the play disc to the hard drive will speed up load times a good bit.

after playing forza2 and 3 back to back, I can say that the feel of driving had definitely been improved. Weight of the cars and tire grip can really be felt through the controller. Evo 10, drives exactly like in real life, love how they implemented the S-AWD.

Sounds like ole' DaeDae needs to jump in the fun. I'll pick this up tonite after work. I'd much rather play Forza3 than have my heart ripped out by watching my beloved Yankees lose again.
