Dish HD receiver

Alright, so yesterday we worked through step one of my issue LOL....
Today I need advice. I'm looking to purchase a Dish HD receiver...doesn't need to be DVR. I see a good number of VIP 211's for sale. Will these do the job as well as anything else? My primary HD receiver has DVR so that is covered. I'm really just looking for something to avoid the standard SD PQ problems that a non-HD receiver offers.
Any opinions welcome.

The 211 is a good receiver. It can be a little flaky with some OTA signals, but otherwise it's fine. You do need to get a Vip series because Dish is slowly switching everything over to MPEG4 and when the transition is complete, the older models aren't going to work.

I got the non-DVR 211 for my bedroom as I have a 622 DVR in the family room. However, I soon discovered that I was used to pausing TV and backing up to catch what I missed. Fortunately, for the 211 I bought an external USB hard drive and for a one time charge of $39 dish will convert the 211 into a DVR. Kind of neat. Now I can pause TV in the bedroom.
