The Classy Living Room Build

Thread Starter
Main factors in this build were WAF and keeping it still "living roomish" I know its not as spectacular as some of the builds on here. but i am extremely proud of what i have accomplished thus far.

well it has been a journey to say the least. I started out with a 42" samsung plasma and a xbox a year ago and this is where i am now. I will just post pics of the build during the process.

i am almost done but not quite. still waiting on a few things. I will just add to this thread as i receive new equipment. I think its fun to see it from scratch so here goes.

Please fill free to comment or give advice.

Pioneer 60" kuro 600m plasma
Sony 52" W 4100 (old)
JSP allegro entertainment center
Sony PS3
XBOX 360
Wii
Pioneer Elite SC-05
Klipsch Icon WF-35 towers
Klipsch Icon WC-24 center
(2) SVS PB-12 plus subwoofers
Logitech Harmony 1100 remote
RF-extender
PS3 adapter
BLue jeans cable HDMI's and speaker wire
Monoprice RCA's

here is what i started with.

here is where we are now.

NEW 60" Kuro

first I wanted something nice to put my TV on and I didnt really want a wall mount so i compromised and found this AWESOME setup from JSP with a mount built in and lights.

my little contstruction worker putting the entertainment center together.

next I wanted some new seating so i went to a local furniture store and grabbed these for about $3500
they are electric reclining entertainment seats.
MONEY WELL SPENT!

a little quality testing

OK NOW HERE IS WHERE I STUMBLED UPON AVSFORUM and went nuts.

I wanted a nice set of tower speakers so after ALOT Of searching i found these
Klipsch ICON WF-35 towers and cetner in ESPRESSO to match the entertainment center

Pioneer SC-05 waiting to be installed

harmony 1100

still waiting on my subs from SVS to get here and a few more things.

edit: subs

To be continued...............

Very nice setup and nice TV.

Nice setup! I love your equipement and the stand is beautiful. Have you gone to an HD box with Directv? I see the reg box in one of the pics.. keep it up!

Nice equipment, but I don't understand the need for the four little speakers there, as they seem so out classed by your mains.

LOL they will be in the bedroom once everything gets hooked up.

still need them for sound at the moment. waiting on my subs to calibrate

and the HD directtv is on the list of things to come

Wow, very sweet looking setup. Loving the Klipsch speakers.
Very nice speakers. i'm surprise that your wife let you get that kinda setup. most would say no.
Nicely done!

It was cool to see what you started with and how the whole thing morphed into what it is now... I love the art work on the wall, I believe I have one just like the one above the fireplace...

Congrats!
very nice. Looking forward to seeing everything setup once you have everything.

what do you guys think of this for the center speaker.
I dont want it on the entertainment center.

it would go above it and this mount angles downward towards the listenter/viewer. its the perfect length 20" and the center speaker is 18" so it would look decent i think

Nice little set-up, but IMO the theater seats are out of place. A nice reclining sofa (or sofa/loveseat, or L-wedge) would look much better in a living room/dining room/kitchen area.

Very nice setup, but just one thing, your TV is not an XBR. It is a W4100.

Nice choice in the SVS subs, they are going to rock your living room!

Hey Paranormalg35,

Looks very nice with the JSB furniture. Great match with the speakers. If you take a look at my system configuration, I have an older JSP credenza that my RPTV sits on. Very well made furniture. I went ahead and modified my credenza by installing casters so it is easier to pull from the wall so I can work from behind on the equipment. I'm not liking the center channel mount but it might work in your case.

Peace

Congrats, these things are going to rock!!!! It looks like you're going to have help installing them, the little guy is all over them... He's having a blast!!

Let us know how you like them!!

Just what I suspected from your name, what year is your G35? I have a 2006 Liquid Platinum G35. But like I have said before "I sometimes would rather drive my home theater system than my G". Your new dual subs are going to rock your world.

Any new photos with the subs?
Nice pics paranormalg35! You sure have a lot of toys! An inflatable hut to a pony....and a G35 =)

Can't wait to hear what you think of those subs once you're done!

What's wrong with the center on the entertainment center? I think you'll be getting the best sound where it's level with your fronts. If you wall mount that thing it might be too high... For me, I had no option but to wall mount my beast of a center (AV123 RSC200) since it wouldn't fit anywhere else, but I only have a TV stand, not a full blown TV shelf.

Maybe he just spends his money wisely on things he enjoys rather than pissing it away on random things. Nice set up by the way.

That'll be a serious upgrade from that LCD. Nice going. How's the receiver working out for you? I was never a fan of Pioneer and Klipsch combos but I'm sure they sound good together. Keep us updated.

Hello paranormalg35.

First, I want to apologize for just noticing your thread. I love the transformation of your system and setup.

The dual SVS's is going to take your system to a wholenuthalevel!

As for the newest upgrade......, 60" and starts with a "P"!?! Could it be a new Pioneer Plasma? It's the only 60" plasma that starts with a "P" that's available, I think!

By the way, I concur with PCWeb! The Pioneer/Klipsch WF Series does sound very good together.

All in all, once you've finished all of your modifications, your system should be one of the better setups on the forum.

Congrats!

Regards.

Panasonic, Pioneer or just plain ole Plasma... ??? And... will it fit in the awesome wall unit? How much did the Entertainment center set you back if you dont mind me asking, i have only seen it for over 3 grand...
