Panasonic Plasma: How to remove duplicate OTA channels

Thread Starter
This worked on the 80u & 850u sets I have that ended up with duplicate OTA channels after rescanning. Probably works on other Panasonic TV's, too.

1. Disconnect the antenna cable from the back of the set.

2. Go to Menu, Setup, Program channel, Auto (make sure 'ANT in' is Antenna), All channels. (This will blow away all OTA channels.)

3. After this is done, reconnect the antenna and run the scan for all channels again.

4. Edit those you don't want.

I tried this with Digital and Analog only scans and the channels were still there. Only running a scan for all channels without the antenna plugged in removed channels.

Thanks, it worked.

I found several duplicate digital OTA channels on my PZ700U after i re-scanned the Digital Channels this morning and deleting them didn't take. So i did another re-scan (leaving the antenna connected) but this time i scanned for ALL Channels instead of just the Digitals and that got rid of all the digital duplicates. It did pick up a few remaining Analog "night light" channels so i just deleted them from the list. This worked on my PZ700U but i don't know if it will work on the PZ8xxx or TC-P 12G series or not. It was much quicker and easier than disconnecting the cable and running two separate scans though.

That method works with an s1 as well.

This worked great on my 42PX80U. I never thought to disconnect the antenna.
Thanks!

I don't think you have to disconnect the antenna as long as you just run one scan for All Channels instead of just the Digital Channels, per my post above.
