Good Surge Protector for my LCD TV

I am going to put in a vote for the Belkin F9D1001 SurgeMaster. It's kinda bulky but has plenty of room for all kinds of home theater equipment. Take the time to secure it to the wall and let it break in. This surge protector will not disappoint.

My favorite, on all our electronics is the APC LE1200. It's both a surge protector and a voltage regulator which helps with brown outs and surges, keeps the current going into the tvs/computers level. Have used it for years with no problems with the attached electronics.

I think the APC 11-outlet would be just fine. I have three APC surge protectors of various sizes and am going to get a fourth one for my new Samsung LN37B650. They are great surge protectors at reasonable prices.

Yes, sort of. Only my new Samsung LN37B650, the AT&T U-Verse "cable" box, and a DVD player will be connected to the new APC Surge Protector.

I've been doing alot of searching on this same question... I've read bits and pieces about the three protectors listed in this link degrading the signal of HDTV if the cable line is ran through the surge protector. Can anyone comment on that?

Also, is the only difference between the C5 and the C10 the two additional outlets?

Often it occurs with 2 items, the signal strength of the cable as it enter the TV and at splits: splitters attenuate the signal about 2-3 dB at each split, then finally the attenuation of the surge protector. Some signal sources, like satellite tv, sends signals to the decoder box that maybe filtered out by the surge suppressor filters; you could plug the coax cable after the decoder box into the surge protector before the TV, in that case. It won't protect the decoder box from a surge but the TV will be.

Yes, but read my last post. Joules rating is hype, and the P11, FWIW, has a higher joule rating than the one you chose, which is its 'little' brother.

That's a good unit but you'll have to replace the SLA batteries in 5 years or earlier. Those batteries will cost more than the price of a P11VNT3. Each UPS rated to about 750W, whereas many passive surge protectors are rated to a full NEC single branch circuit, about 1850W.

The cost of those from APC is roughly, $30, 60, and 90 each respectively. The only issue is UPS have high maintenance costs for the batteries, see reviews at Amazon for LE1200 regulator.
