Unfortunately the trailer hasn't been added yet, but there is a 30 second teaser for the trailer now on-line.

The 30 second teaser features various behind the scenes clips with a voice over by Ridley Scott, and states that an exclusive first look of the trailer will be on iTunes this Thursday, December 22nd.

I will be happy if it is at least as good as the Alien Vs Predator movies.

Better NOT be PG-13!

Where is your faith?
We're talking about the guy who made Alien.

BTW, I dig the AvP stuff.

http://trailers.apple.com/trailers/fox/prometheus/

Jon Spaihts writing credit over Lindelof as it should be - good

Scott has already stated that the film is expected to be released as PG-13, but he's shooting harder material for a Director's Cut.

I haven't been able to get Quicktime (or IE Spell) to work for the longest time on my Windows 7 computer.
It's weird.
Maybe it's the Norton Anti-Virus....

Well, it's a .mov file - hope you find a way to play it.
Frame by frame full screen is amazing. The sets and props are epic

BTW - anyone thinking Ron Cobb when you see the crew ship? Looks familiar. Not unlike the unused design for the first film.

Oh man....what is the point with chest-gnawing-bursting aliens in a made-for-kids movie ?
Not saying that the movie can't be good but that kind of defeat the whole idea.
We are going backwards, 1979 R-rated, 2011 PG-13, or is the idea that PG-13 today is 1979's R-rated?

Gggrrrrr!!!

Yeah.... we'll see how that 'DC' really turns out. Le sigh.

Yeah, really. Hollywood: Quit neutering movies that are meant to be rated R! Seriously, lots of people will still see it to get you plenty of ticket sales. Just stop.

I think it's the latter....

I don't get it....since when does a "rating" make or break the quality of a movie?
Science fiction has to be an "R" in order to be good?

Space Jockey on the right? Pilot?

Other note-worthy screen caps:

HUMANOID, most likely.

Now that I think about it....yeah, gotta be.
The big "human" face on the wall and all that.
So the Space Jockey (or pilot) is a humanoid after all...so what is the thing in the chair from the original Alien?

No but it's frikkin' Aliens, man! You wouldn't want to see a PG-13 Friday the 13th or whatever would you? Don't get me wrong. It still looks good and you bet your ass I'll go see it but... c'mon. Don't defend the totally unnecessary lower rating. Cool movie franchise or not.

Coming Soon: Goodfellas, the remake... rated PG13.

I have a question for you, when does making a movie like this rated PG13 make it better?

If you say ticket sales...

It doesn't.
Frankly, I never pay attention to the "rating" when I select a movie to watch.
It's more about what I am in the mood for.
I like movies rated anywhere from G to NC-17...it really doesn't matter as far as I am concerned.

If there isn't a chestburster scene in Prometheus, fine by me.
After all, been there....done that.
I'm sold.

I had my doubts (and still, with Scott's spotty track record of pulling of movies that I find fully satisfying, I harbour doubts)...

But the visuals at least look pure R. Scott. Amazing atmosphere and there is that fantastic eye for lighting/cinematography in place, so it's a very encouraging trailer.

ETA: Just downloaded the 1080p version of the trailer and OMG, the visuals are incredible.

BTW, the original Alien trailer (available on youtube) I think is a masterpiece: creepy, dread-filled, relentless, increasingly nerve-wracking.
Wow that trailer is fantastic. To say I can't wait would be an understatement.

I read some new comments from Scott a couple of days ago where he stated that the "pilot" we saw in Alien was in fact a suit, not a skeleton and he wanted to explore who/what was in the suit. (obviously)
He also flat out stated that there will not be any xenomorphs in the movie. (I'll look for the link)

Trailer looks great. Is that the ship from Alien that is shown crashing?
Now, as long as
Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
Spoiler
Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
the time travel/paradox plot outline really was a fake
this should be great.
