I truly believe that this could turn out to be the best sc-fi adventure film ever.

Another viral video released:

This being a prequel, at least we know the "home" still exists for its sequel. So they stopped it somehow. Plus, none of the crew made it back to deliver the info so the company had to rely on Nostromo to venture out again.

Yep, and now we have some dialog to spark the blogs

This looks so freakin' cool. It may have moved up my "anticipation list" and bumped The Avengers and TDKR down a notch.
I'm in serious need of the 1080 quicktime so I can frame by frame all the new set shots. More Geiger influence on the passage way walls!

And they cannot get a PG-13. it's being cut again and again and again because the MPAA keep giving it an R. Well no S**T it's gonna get an R with and other such bloody things going on!! This being a PG-13 movie is madness. Give us back adult entertainment, you Hollywood *******!

Yes, I am still going, but I know there will be a much more graphic Blu-Ray around the corner.
Is this seriously getting a PG13 rating? I just assumed it would naturally get an R. Might have moved down a notch on my "anticipation list."
Scott is doing 2 cuts right? R/PG13. So getting the R when it comes to bluray. Damn u hollywood

Maybe I don't get it, but a lack of blood and guts never dissuades me from watching a movie.

If RS's intention was for an R-rated Prometheus and the studio won't play along, it's fine with me (as long as we get Scott's intended R-rated cut on the first BD release via seamless branching).

From the start he noted the rules of the MPAA marketing game & made it known there will be an 'Adult' , i.e. non USA cut. There was never a struggle on this issue from his point of view.

To quote Newt, mostly, it mostly doesn't matter. But the chest bursting scenes alone should be R. They're gonna tame it down for the teenie-boppers. Then release an unrated "R" version on blu. Enough with this Twilight sh!t.

Yeah I feel like routing the video from the pc in the bedroom over to PC input on the projector and playing it in Dolby Stereo really loud! Like the ALIEN eerier music that was used on the first ALIEN 1979 trailer.

Well trailers are cut like that to make us all drool acid for saliva.

It now looks like this, ALIEN film is going to pay off after, Ridley Scott's last film which was more like Gladiator of Sherwood Forest. Thank you Mr. Scott for putting ALIEN back on the right track.

I love that they didn't quick cut away from the scenes at the end while the music was at its most intense. Most trailers would do that to try and force the viewer to feel on edge and anxious or even frightened. Instead, they hold the scenes and allow the viewer to genuinely experience those emotions naturally.

Well we all have eyes watching the trailer and they cash their own ship into the ALIEN ship where it will remain a derelict ship, until Dallas crew finds it many years later in the future...creeeeepppyy

1 June 2012 (UK) I wonder which cinema in London will get it booked in? 74 days and counting.

Technical specs for the filming looks good from the trailer nice colour brightness no crappy filmed in Super35. I guess from looking at the trailer it will be in scope.

A potential problem with that approach though is that quite often those scenes(blood and guts, etc) come very suddenly and without warning. When re-viewing the movie via BD you'll be anticipating those scenes so they won't have nearly the same impact.

My ideal situation would be if Scott could guarantee that an R rated version would be shown in select theaters, possibly a month or 2 after the kiddie version hits wide release, then I would wait for that release. Short of that I may opt to just wait for the BD release.

To be clear, those scenes generally do not make or break a film, but if I'm going to view, what looks to be the best sci-fi film created in the last decade or so, I'd much prefer to see it they way the director intended it to be seen.

But that's just me, passing up the theater viewing, which will likely take advantage of the large screen nicely, is going to be very tough to do, at this point I'm still undecided.

P.S. Actually, while reading my own words here, I've decided I'm going to have to see it when it's released, kiddie version or not!

ALIEN UK rating will be 15 as far as I can see on Google main pages so the US run should be an R rating. The UK version might be toned down by the BBFC or might pass in the same way as the US release? Well all have to wait and see, won’t we.

Most people conclude it's not the same ship or planet and a second film will perhaps bridge things closer to Alien.

Its not the same LV-426 planet oh. Well I guess there was more than one ALIEN spaceship with space jockey. Well at any rate it still looks good.

Got the original 1979 better version region 1 DVD 20th anniversary playing in 6track Dolby. I've got that ALIEN feeling, I've got that bug hunt bug feeling. Its slow film that builds up the tension.

Buy Quicktime Pro. Go to Dave's Trailer Page (or Apple Trailers) and download the 1080p .MOV. In QT Pro convert it to MP4, copy it to a thumb drive and take it to your system. If you're using the PS3, it supports mp4, but requires specific folder protocol. Of course, the Oppos will also support this. Fun to do, though. Some trailers are 2ch, some 5.1, and occasionally there is a 7.1. Don't know what this one has for audio.

The visuals of the planet and spacecraft are astounding-looking!

LOL, my faith in you was not in vain.

I am such a fanboy of this series I just can't stay from an IMAX 3D presentation....I just can't.

Apple now has the 1080 file available for download.
Frame by frame viewing is amazing. Lots to see.
At 2:01 there are a few frames of a very creepy subject over what I assume is Shaw? You guys tell me. Yuk!

I don't see the international 1080 yet. It's a very different cut.

I like it when trailers are in regular Dolby Stereo I'll wait till I'm prepared to go and see it hopeful knock on wood in THX. Otherwise I'll wait to later in the year. The visual looked fine on the trailer in front of me on 26" Bravia I was drooling and I'm still wiping up the mess. Thanks.
