My favorite "reboot" of the MI theme is still the one from the U2 guys, from the first film...

holy crap! are you sh!ttin me? Eminem in a MI film, talk about WTF! the guy is the biggest fraud frontin phoney baloney albino POC in the music industry. Look at his high school pictures and you can tell he was the little goofy runt that all the bullies picked on and now he's acting like some tough gangsta rapper under a cloth of hip-hop. There's not a person I despised more on this earth than this POS.
Wow. Now tell us how you really feel..
Eminem made around $14 million in ’09. Wish I could be such a sucessful phony.
Calm down Zoey, lol..

For one, he's not a phony and nowhere near important enough for you to rage about.

Secondly, it was just an energetic song that he happens to rap in that was played for said energy in the trailer. He's not actually IN the film.
I hate him with a passion. He can't even take a joke at award shows when Triumph the insult dog was having some fun and he tried to beat up the puppet.

But whats really disgusting is his attempt in trying to be black, it's so ridiculous and retarded. He wan't this way in high school so all sudden now he's this tough urban dude who thinks he's black? you don't call that phoney? This is really off topic and unhealthy so Im just gonna stop talking about that loser.
Are you exactly like you were back in high school? Also, is rap culture exclusive to black people?

I think he's a tool, but I don't think he's a phony. I just don't like seeing people waste energy on such insignificance. But if you insist, hate away.

Yup, he's replacing Ving Rhames as the Luther Stickell character.

^^^^^

*laughs*

On a related note, I caught some of the new Elm Street movie this weekend, (Bleh!) and I happened to look up at the movie during a shot of some snowy ground. It was all teal! Lol, any more teal and it wouldn't have been snow but that blue stuff you sprinkle on your lawn to fix 'tough spots' like in those commercials.

Release date has moved from Dec. 16 to Dec. 21

MI3 was easily the best of the 3 (overall), largely due to JJ's incredible talent. I can't wait to see what he can do with the 4th now that he's had a few movies under his belt (MI3 was his directorial feature debut btw).

The first MI stunk and it stunk bad. No one on earth knew what that movie was about it so byzantine.

what I found the most annoying about the first 2 MI movies was that they covered up any plot hole by just having one of the main characters put on one of those face masks and audio voice recorders which makes them virtually identical to another character...totally ridiculous

isn't MI4 going to be film certain sequences with IMAX cameras as well?...that should be really cool

Mmmk. Highly disagree. Maybe the first time around if you went in expecting a dumb action thriller, sure, I could see how one could leave not knowing what it was about. The plot in MI:1 is complex, but not incomprehensible, and it is also quite exciting and engaging without relying on the typical dumb action norm.

In the second film, yes. In the first film those masks were used legitimately and sparsely.

Agreed.

I actually didn't like MI3 at all. I dunno why. It was just... missing something.

MI2 was at least good ol' John Woo schlock. And it has motorcycle jousting. I consider that a plus!
MI 2 was crazy good. I saw it at Mann chinese and everyone including myself had a great time with the action and humor. It had all the cool 007-esque stunts and action and John woo did a great job of creating some of the coolest stunts I've seen like motorcycle trick, the rock climb, and face mask swaps,...all were very fun and cool that the 1st one DID NOT have. I totally agree with auditor55, MI 1 didn't even feel like a mission impossible film

And as for the 3rd one, OMG becky JJ ablrams turned it into a jokefest and made ethan hunt into some sissy family man fiance. So the 1st one was boring and weird, the 3rd one was just stupid and lame. The trailer for the 4th one looks a lot like the 2nd one and rightfully so bringing the fun and essence of MI franchise back on track.
Suffice to say, I disagree entirely. In fact, I bought the trilogy on Blu-ray last year to watch all 3 in a row. After the second one finished I threw it in the trash with the rest of the garbage. The first one was a superb thriller, and the 3rd one was a superb action film with a twinge of heart. The second film was a slow-motion over-acting fest with wireplay and doves... just awful.
none of the MI movies captured the essense of the TV show which was a TEAM of people sent in to impossible situations...the movies barely make use of the TEAM and they are just there for show...it's all about Ethen Hunt with a few people along for the ride...the first movie tried to make it more of a team concept but ended up having everyone be a double agent or villian which was silly
post #86 of 398
I liked the first one.

Yup, exactamundo. And they did it again in the last hour of the 3rd one as well and it was sooo confusing and stupid. Btw, ethan's team members were active in the 2nd one but were more in the background assisting and guiding ethan hunt in and out of impossible situations which was in line with the tv show which I saw daily when I was 6-7 yrs old.

Yeah... it was pretty bad but I still didn't find anything about MI3 worth redeeming save for the performance from Philip Seymour Hoffman. About the only good thing in that one, imo. At least I can watch MI2 and ... well... laugh.

^ I'm not a big fan of the sequels, but the original was worthy of praise in my book. Damn good action movie with an actual story.

I enjoyed MI:1,MI:2,MI:3 and can't wait for MI:4 great films.
