Adjust Volume for the Canon DM-100 Microphone

Is there a way to adjust the volume for the Canon DM-100 Microphone?

I looked at the Canon HF100 manual, but it only provides instructions for adjusting the built-in microphone.
I looked at the given information in the Canon DM-100 Microphone box package, but it only provides instructions on how to install it.

It's the same thing...the DM-100 takes over as the mic instead of the internals..
Go to the user manual in the section: Audio Recording Level

I should add that you need to experiment with the levels and watch the audio levels on the HF100 LCD screen and listen in headphones. You don't want it to go over the 0 mark; 0db, because the noise will 'clip" which will distort the sound.
You set it lower then 0db and give it room to fall under 0db/but not too low..

The "mic attenuator" function, turned on in the HF100 menu will limit loud noise; for example recording loud music in a club.

is there a tripod thread under the bottom of the DM-100, or some such way to connect it to a boom pole?

I can craft up my own solution for this, but the key thing to know is: can you run a mic lead from the DM-100 to the mic-in socket on the HF S10
for recording dialog amongst the actors in a short film?
