Mounting above Fireplace

Hey guys. Long time reader, not too many posts. I have a question regarding mounting an LCD over a brick fireplace. Trust me when I say that this is the only place to put it. I know that it can be done and have seen many pics, but for the life of me I cannot find a "How To" guide. I've seen articles and blogs about mounting TV's to wood studs, but I cannot find any guides on exactly what to do for mounting into brick. Any help would be great!

I would imagine it would be the same basic process, except you need to figure out how to anchor into the brick. If you can drill all the way through the brick and have access to the other side, a long bolt might be your best bet. If you don't have access to the backside, then research the different kinds of masonry/brick anchors and choose something heavy duty. I assume you aren't wanting to build some sort of frame around the brick and attach it to that?

Good luck.

There aren't any "How To" guides out there for this? I'm moving into my new house tomorrow and hoped to work on it this coming week. Any help would be much appreciated!

Well, here's some basics that I found to get a general idea regarding concrete anchors:
