Just what I expect from a hi-def transfer (compare that to the awful Gremlins transfer).
But, that was still a transfer from an early 2000 DVD.
Since they went to the digibook route on Blu-Ray, we all expected a new transfer.
Since they didn't do that, I'll happily keep my HD DVD.
It's blurry to hide the aliasing, it appears to be horizontally stretched and it's just not a pleasing image. Honestly, I might prefer the aliased HD-DVD to the filtered Blu-ray.
And what's not fair about that? It is
a crap transfer (aliasing) and it is
a crap encode (filtered, stretched, colors appear off but that could be DVD Beaver). Warner continues to shovel out some of the laziest releases out there.
