Sad to hear these issues with this Denon. At this point I have an Oppo 970 DVD-A/SACD & Panny BD60 in my main setup.

I really love the 2010 thus far for picture Quality and the speed differance over the 05fd. As well as havent had to worry about what title I put in as it just plays them : )

I heard it up against the panasonic and the jeff beck bluray in a store I deal with and there was no comparison hands down denon.
But for video I coudn't tell the difference with the jeff dvd.

I'm also still waiting to hear somebody else on here who has heard it with multi channel out over analog .,to hear all the latest formats.

why get the oppo to save a few bucks
the burr brown dac chip should say denon

All the outputs are active on the Oppo at the same time. I'm able to bitstream DD & DTS or use the multi-channel for hi rez audio and the dedicated 2 channel for cd playback if I wish. This is all avaiable without going into the setup menu to make changes. This question is more for informational purposes. Again, I'm doing leg work for a friend who's 1st choice is a Denon to match his current setup.
