Ok thanks to both of you so I will try and answer both questions at same time and not the best audio person so bear with me.

2 no problem with cbs hd so far, more with nbc hd and hbo hd
3 yes I am subscribed to hbo hd, came with package
4 i have sony 46s5100 tv
5 my connection is from the hd digital box (i guess it confirgued for hd too?) by hdmi cable direct to tv hdmi connection.
6 OOOO yea left something out only on sunday with hd nbc looking at us open, i had my mini shelf denon stero connected to tv using analog cable (red white) and was getting sound thru that too, i had my input speaker (switch marked for audio system instead of tv.
7 but monday night just listening thru tv speakers and sound dropped out for about 30 seconds.
8 tonight I switched connection with same cable and no droped sound watch master and commander dvd
9I am beginning to think it just might be comcast cable signal from their feed? instead of tv or cable, could i be at least partly right?
