I will be using this primarily as a computer monitor and with gaming consoles. No actual TV use.

What is comparable these days to my current Westinghouse LVM-W37?

Check on LG for computer/game 32 or 37 LH30.

I can't comment as a computer monitor but my Wii looks pretty darn good with my Panasonic 37 inch (S1 model). I'm using Nintendo brand component cables with it playing Mario Kart. I haven't noticed a problems with the response time but each person is different in terms of their eye perception. Here's two pics.
